Lost River Fishing - December Fishing Report (Week 3)

As winter approaches, the fishing reports will slow down and we'll start doing more tying videos. When it comes to fishing conditions on the Salmon River, with the weather, we're seeing higher flows which should help push some fish in.

Size 10 and 12 stonflies with various hot spot thorax has always been my standard. Copper chenille, peacock, red ice dub. Throw in some variants with fluorescent green, pink and orange biots and beads. Also 60 second flies and mop flies work well.

Thanks again for the report. Thank god it’s over, I’ve been walking around the house the whole video trying to figure out which smoke alarm is beeping! I would be curious as to how many fish are up in the hatchery? Is it packed full like last year at this time eliminating hundreds of fish from doing battle?

Hey Jay! Would love to see your take on a babine special or double egg fly pattern?!. I seen you use similar once in one of your steelhead videos. It seems to be an effective pattern for mid/late winter steelhead! Or a megaprince fly tying vid? Thanks jay! Fish on!🐟🎣

I was out there on Monday, Dec. 16 on the banks and it was tough. T-18 was flying through the runs.
