"It only ends once. Everything that happens before that is just progress." Most epic reveal ever of the two most mysterious characters of the show. I wish all of Season 6 was about their flashbacks growing up on the island, coming up with the rules, playing games as different groups of people landed on the island- all building up to the finale.

The fact they didn’t spoon feed answers is what makes the show so great. 12 years after it ended and people still debate its meaning, plot points, cannon etc. they managed to con ABC into a castaway concept and turned it into high concept with a high budget. These days lost would be made easily by one of the streaming services like Netflix as they need ‘event content’, but in 2004 there was nothing like lost on tv.

While recently rewatching this series and episode, after Jacob’s (Mark Pellegrino) line “nice talking to you too” and MIB (Titus Welliver) walking away, I half expected the camera to pan back and show a disgusted Matthew Abaddon (Lance Reddick) next to Jacob, who would say “…fucking Bosch.” Then cue the Bosch theme, of course.

It only ends once. Anything before that is just progress. So therefore can it be argued that destruction and corruption are necessary for progress? Intriguing message there, yet like in life it is said oftentimes "through adversity comes strength". It seems, in life, you do really need a little salt in the stew to make it palatable.
@christiandominguez66864 ай бұрын
I do agree some type of adversity might be necessary from time to time. But for sure there can be progress without those things being a factor. There is no progress in destruction and corruption only regression. Overcoming them and other adversities can lead to great progress too. But it is not the adversity itself that causes the progress. It is our choices and what we do with adversity that determines that.

@terminald7064 Жыл бұрын
People live and die every day on or off the Island. Around the world we live in grace, bliss and prosperity and we also die in poverty, addiction, disease and loneliness. The Island brought many people more than they could ever hope to feel or achieve outside of it, and terrible things for others. It is no different than the chance of fate in a mundane existence anywhere else they wound up. Not to mention this slight tipping of the cosmic scale for a few castaways is nothing compared to the unmitigated disaster that would be MiB getting off the island.

In one of the videos on the Lost Explained channel, he discusses how Egyptians were likely among the first to find the island. One clue being that the "exit" for the island is in Tunisia seems to indicate that the island was at one point, or maybe even originated, in the Mediterranean. Jacob and the Man in Black also appear to be Roman in origin.

That's the smoke monster taking on Jacob's brother form, the same way he does during the present with other deceased people. Jacob's brother is long gone at that point, and all that's lefg is MiB impersonating him.
@WWEMASSEFFECT94 Жыл бұрын
@@EfftingESbut Jacobs brother is the MIB?
@aljarv47955 ай бұрын
@@WWEMASSEFFECT94 The Monster is part of MIB since he was thrown into the Source and his soul tainted (i think the Monster/Smoke is part of the Source, opposite of the Light always in there, and the defiling of the Source by Jacob tainting it with his brother's angry, mournful soul which longed to escape the Island because he hated their mother's control allowed the evil to escape using his brother's soul entering the Source as the method). Theyre one and the same. The Monster is now part of MIB, his memories remain thanks to the Monster scanning his soul when it escaped like it scanned other people in the show, so it makes sense that the Monster/MIB chooses to use its original body's form after his body's demise because he wishes he was a human again (Monster as Locke in Season 6 admits he likes to walk around as Locke instead of flying more efficiently as the Smoke because he likes reminding himself he was once human). Hope that helps :)

That monster is consist of his brother's brain waves, or the bio-electricity that resides within the brain, mixed with the Island's source. The brain waves got separated from the body somehow, that's why he still remembers what Jacob did to him.
