II adore JF and the song "Playing to Win." I saw JF in concert twice during the eighties. The first time was as an opening act for Whitney Houston, who unfortunately didn't perform well on her first tour here. However, she improved tremendously the second time around. Yet, JF outshone as the opening act, a sentiment echoed by my friend and brother. I used to be a fan of RS, owned his albums but eventually parted with them, although I've kept one. Love and Light x.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, this is a fun series to do. Playing To Win is a great song that gets overlooked these days. I saw John at Expo 88, when he had hit the big-time, and was arguably, the most popular artist in Australia. As you would expect, this was him at this prime, and yes. he was phenomenal! I have heard many stories that indicate that Whitney was not the greatest live performer. As for Mr. Springfield, I haven't parted with any of my albums and memorabilia just yet - lol. “Playing to Win” Is an absolute banger, a staple of Aussie TV sports montages of the 80s/early 90s. Team Shortock tho. I mean, he grew up in my hometown. Lizbeff, represent! Fun fact: Rick Springfield has an awesome vintage Star Wars collection. He loved the art and design on those classic Kenner cardbacks and boxes. So he bought them all and kept them in mint condition 😍

Yes, LRB with Shorrock will always be hard to beat! Farnham, really was his own man. As for Springfield, yes, he adores his Star Wars action figures. Rick has a very impressive collection and once when he was escaping a fire, his Star War stuff, was amongst the first things that he saved. What a cool guy! Stay Gold, Australia's Retro Man.
