"Why do you find it so hard to believe?" "Why do you find it so easy?" "ITS NEVER BEEN EASY" my favorite scene :D

The two main characters of the story. The dynamic between these two was what got me so into the show.

When I 1st heard that line, I thought "How can he survive this?", turns out survival was secondary to jack.

I've always considered that even though Jack and Locke were fundamentally different people in the the ways they saw the world (Jack being a man of science and Lock a man of faith), they were essentially kindred spirits. These two were both very stubborn men broken by the fact that their lives weren't going the way they had hoped and looking to find purpose in their lives. Often at times Jack got annoyed at Locke because he had polarizing beliefs that made no sense to Jack and the two of them often come to blows due to disagreements with one another with Jack even coming close to murdering Locke. And yet it was when Jack found out Locke had died that made him especially depressed after already going through some hard times years after leaving the Island. Because out of everybody he knew, Locke was the only person who could comfort and console him. He understood Jack better than anyone, better than Kate, Juliet, Sawyer and even his own father. In life Locke was a man Jack thought was crazy and delusional, yet it took Locke's death for Jack to understand where he was coming from and why he so desperately wanted to remain on the Island. It was because of Locke that Jack became a man of faith.

Jack: I'm not a leader. Locke: Yet they all treat you like one. Locke spitting the truth, and get off your ass Jack; these people need you whether you like it or not.

Very cool video! I noticed that similarity between 5:51 and 6:58 when I first watched the finale, I think. Jack also comes to use the same phrases as Locke eventually - "we were not supposed to leave", which is exactly how Locke said it to him at The Orchid. The Jack Shepard and John Locke "rivalry" throughout Lost is one of the best in TV history. They had AMAZING scenes together.
