I've seen WOMEN with more gonads who definitely did not take no for an answer, when it was claimed they had no chance in hell to overcome what appeared to be an insurmountable obstacle. I hope this lieutenant will regroup, and come back at it with heart and undaunted perseverance. He ought to be sheriff. That's an elected position. I'd give to his election campaign - as long as he comes up with a meaningful strategy to put in place a simple but surefire system of checks & balances that would make it near if not impossible for this sort of thing to spin out of control in the future. There are ways. But they have to be thought out and implemented. One thing is training deputies - drumming into them the skill and principles that will best ensure them to be able to stand alone - if need be - against wrongdoing on the part of other deputies...even when it is a ranking officer. This is where mechanisms have to be designed and put in place that are not subject to being bypassed, short-circuited or otherwise by alleged 'superiors'. He would be wise and it ought to be seriously understood that deputies must be trained and actually comprehend and fear violating the Constitutional Rights of any and all citizens. But they have to be well versed in these and actually give a damn about them for them to defend them. Again, checks have to be in place that would insure that they'd fear the IMMEDIATE and SERIOUS consequences of violating a citizens rights.

I have some friends that are cops, some I would consider good honest men who want to make their communities safer. they were really happy and proud that this man came forward and said something. they said he had balls of steel. I brought up that he should have gotten lemons job. and they both said as much as they respect this guy no police department would take him. the reason for this is because although what he did was right, he will not be trusted by other officers if they feel that they now have to watch everything they do or get "snitched on" they said they wouldn't mind because they are "good" cops. I know it sounds dumb and most people will say there's no such thing as good cops, but I mean we can say this one was a good cop. or at least that's what all these comments are saying. so having grown up with these 2 guys I like to believe that they are some of the good ones. but it was definitely telling of how thick the "thin" blue line is.

You know I have to comment on what you said there are a lot of good policeman out there are there corrupt ones yes they are and many are corrupt I ran into a bad one two weeks ago when I was in a car accident I stopped at my stop sign I had to go straight across the street I had got to the other side and this old man was going very fast and he came and he swerved in front of me and he took out the whole front of my car $5000 in damage and I don’t have the money to fix it so I’m running around with my car like that plus I have to go to court plus I may get my license suspended because the cop said that I failed to yield that’s not true I swear to God I was all the way on the other side of the street half a block away when that old man took me out And not only that I don’t know how many people do this but I look three ways I look to my right I look to my left and then I look to my right again he was over a block and a half away from me and the cop would not listen to me I tried to tell him what happened and I know he was concerned with is giving me a ticket

It explains that when they got the go ahead to get a warrant for the murder. The corrupt ass sherriff told them not to go talk to the person, because the sheriff would do it since he knows him. But of course the sherriff never did
