The fact that Thaidakar and his associates are so involved in everything that transpired is mind blowing, I'd never really processed that of course Axindweth was working for him. The Cosmere connections are going to be even crazier soon! Beautifully produced video as always :P

With what we know from the Band of Mourning, I think Axindweth is from Southen Scadrial and is channeling Connection to speak the Listeners language. A Feruchemist would need to learn and store the langue over time, where as using Connectoin means you can speak the the local language, when connected to the land, but retain your own accent, see Allik from bands of mourning.

I can't believe I didn't realize that Gereh was the other Scadrian. Now it seems so obvious but I've only read those chapters twice so I'm betting I would have caught it on a third reading. I didn't know the clue about the rings on my second read so that's why it didn't click. Anyway, great video setting up all the different events and POVs for that night. I can't wait to see where you go in the next video. I bet this took A LOT of time to plan out and edit but the end product is awesome! I bet a collaboration between you and some other book tubers making a Stormlight/Cosmere video would be epic. Your editing skills are some of the best and then combine that with some other ideas and theories I bet would make for some great content. Anyway that was a great video, I can't wait for the next installment.

2 comments about Axindweth. She may be using a Duralumin mind as opposed to a coppermind to speak Venli's language. I'm not 100% on that, but considering who she is working with I wouldn't be surprised. Also, her name is very Terris. So even if there wasn't a comment made about her rings we could very reasonably guess that she is in fact a Terris woman. Just another detail that showcases Brandon's ability to leave hints in plain sight.

What do you personally think about the style of retelling the same event from multiple POVs piecewise like Stormlight has done with the feast? I think it is a very powerful way to convey the depth of the story on a personal, planetary, and universal scale. I had no idea how DENSE that night was until your channel, man. Even after reading the first three books twice myself before seeing your stuff, I just kind of thought there were an awful lot of coincidences and meshes that night... I was not prepared for how much I was blown away. But your analyses of that night over the course of your channel has really shown me the scope of this story. Brandon Sanderson is the first author to have given me whiplash with how the scope of the story changes so quickly. I do not mean this in a bad way. When you're in the middle of a person to person drama then they say something that makes you realize this entire other thing has been happening in the background that changes the morality of several of the encounters you've previously made an opinion on, it often has me stopping to appreciate how well the many avenues and magnitudes of plot are woven together. Thanks to your work on this channel, I can appreciate it to a much greater degree.

@techno28232 жыл бұрын
Hey Christian, so sorry if this is stealing the wind out of your sails. I just had some theories for book 5, and wanted to share them in a place where they could perhaps be explored further. Shallan was born in 1156, and killed her mother at the age of 11, making the year of her death 1167. Gavilar was assassinated the same year. The Stormfather, if it even is him, said in the prologue chapter that a herald had died. I think Chanarach, who had "flaming red hair" was actually Shallan's mother. Her death was not one such as Jezrien experienced, but rather one that returned the Heralds to Braize. When she got there, she caved, allowing the next desolation to occur.I think this means that Shallan's fifth Ideal will be something along the lines of, "I caused this desolation." Also this means Taln never broke! I think we are going to see a reunion between Shallan and her mother before this series is over, but i also wanted to comment on the identity of the "Stormfather" at the time of the feast. Jezrien, according to Dalinar's POV, was a drunk outside the palace at the time of the feast. Taln was on Braize, and Kalak, Nalan, and Shalash were in the palace. If my previous conjecture is correct, Chanarach was in Jah Keved. Taravangian identified Dova as Battar, so it is safe to assume she was either at the feast near Taravangian or somewhere in Kharbaranth at the time of the feast. This leaves only 2 Heralds able to mimic the Stormfather, with Vedel being the patron of the Edgedancers. Due to the description of the "Stormfather" in this prologue chapter, I believe that he is instead being mimicked by Paliah (Through her Surgebinding) or Ishar (Through his acces to most of the Honourblades.) Just some guesses I had at stuff that would be revealed either in Stormlight 5 or later. Great video as always, and I'm so hyped for this book!

Just to point out what I think is an inconsistency in the timeline. At 10:00 I dont think Szeth already knew about what he was gonna do that night at this point. Cause timeline wise, He was just a slave in the castle. I dont remember if Jasnah's assasin had already sold the stone but am sure he was just working with the Parshmen. The assassination plan was only given to him after Nale told Venli his stuff and Gavilar spooked out Eshonai.

Currently there's way too much coincidence surrounding how the True Desolation came about - we have Axindweth randomly going off on her own, giving Venli Gavillar's voidlight, and overdetermining the return by starting the entirely separate Venli plot to return the desolations that then runs into Gavillar's plot. Heck, Kelsier even remarks that it's as if they're all just following the tide. And Szeth happens to be in the slave market in Alethkar at the same time? And a herald died on that exact night? No way was this coincidence and Gavillar clearly wasn't pulling all those strings. Who? Someone probably with access to Fortune - either Odium or Cultivation. And that suggests Gavillar was talking to Odium.
@LostinDiscovery2 жыл бұрын
This is definitely my line of thought. There are a LOT of coinciding plots here.

Yo! Awesome video man. I'm newish to the channel and just got caught up with your latest Stormlight videos. In regards to the Heralds, you brought up Kalek and his madness, as well as Taln, we also see Ashe is a bit gone too. Jez is a mad hobo. But Nale seems hardly mad if at all if my memory serves me correct. I could be way off of course. Why do you think he isn't as maddened as the other Heralds?
@Sophiahime2 жыл бұрын
Brandon has stated outright that all the heralds are insane. Nale's insanity just manifests "normal" when in reality he too has lost it.
@LostinDiscovery2 жыл бұрын
Nale's "madness" basically lies with his relationship with the law. I believe I elaborate on this in my Nale video from a while back!
