This song totally bangs, its basically a precursor to thrash and def one of my own personal favorite queen songs. BTW, I suspect you don't get more Queen requests because of public perception of the band. Queen has like 10 or 20 songs that are considered to be some of the most classic rock songs ever made, so much so that they are overplayed to DEATH, enough that many people are actually tired of hearing them even despite them being so good (looking at you "We are the Champions"). The reality is that Queen has 15 albums, most of which people have never actually heard, and are a far deeper and more interesting band than many people give them credit for.

Kinda crazy that I see more comments about the Metallica cover than about this original version of the song. @@dmm79 I really like those first 4 Metallica albums but all of their covers sound that way to me. You will find their voices were interchangeable. Sometimes within the same song. The fact that Fred could sing any style, & they as a whole. Could play any style. Meant. Four people writing songs. With very different musical tastes, & influences. Could play / sing. What they wrote, & smash it out of the park. Note. Brian does sing lead on at least one track. Sometimes more. per album. That said. Live. He let Fred sing them. While he focused on playing guitar / providing backing vocals. If you want to hear him. You have to react to the studio cuts. WOW, never thought I'd see a reaction to these kind of songs... Queen has a lot of hits to react to but I'm really happy that you went that far back and picked this one instead of "Now I'm Here" or "Killer Queen"... This is one of my fav Queen albums right beside "Queen II". In the same line of thought, reacting to less known Queen tracks, I'd suggest a song with the same title as this album: "Sheer Heart Attack" from the album "News Of The World" from 1977 that has probably a even more punk-rock feel to it... that's the year of Sex Pistols so it makes more sense... but yeah, "Stone Cold Crazy" was at least 3 or 4 years ahead of it's time just considering the uninvented "Punk". Hope to see a few more of these forgotten pearls of the Queen discography... this album has a big load of awesome songs "Brighton Rock", "Tenement Funster" , "Flick Of The Wrist", "Bring Back That Leroy Brown" or "In The Lap Of The Gods" and, of course "In The Lap Of The Gods (Revisited)"... it's an awesome album!

I think there is a great study to be had on Queen's Live Killers album songs vs. the studio versions of some of the songs. Because of Queen's heavy production and layering in the studio, the live versions can be quite different than the studio version, but both are phenomenal in their own way. Best examples that pop to mind of this are "Death on two legs", "Let me Entertain You" and "Get down, make love". Would love to see some reactions comparing live/studio versions of these.

Yeah Queen is my favorite band ever. It is pretty close, but damnit their greatest hits was a 3 cd deal and I was disappointed that several songs did not make that cut. That is pretty ridiculous when you think about it, how many bands do you know where at least 20+ songs are amazing to you?

This song changed everything for me when I was getting introduced to rock and roll ! Under the radar! I got the sheer heart attack album when i was 10 in 1974!!!! I listened to this song over and over again playing on my brother’s hand me down record player!!!! I stared at Freddy Mercury’s black nail polish for hours on the cover of the album and immediately became a big ole rock and roll 🎸 gal!!! Good queen years!!!!!!! Listen to Brighton rock and let the magic happen!!!!

Another great example of the diversity of sound Queen has given us is the song "39" from A Night at the Opera. It's an acoustic ballad that leans heavily on the folk music sound of the early 60's, but with futuristic, science fiction, story line.

Hi guys! You should listen to "Stone Cold Crazy" performed by Metallica and absolutely see the live performance with James Hetfield and Queen during the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness, held on 20th April 1992 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

There is nobody that can BEGIN to match Freddie live, but I have really enjoyed the cover band Killer Queen the times I've gone to see them. It's just so much fun to hear those songs played live in an audience full of fans that know all of the words, know all of the dances and glances and costumes and everything that their singer does to play the role... Check them out if you get the chance! And react to more Queen! I think most of us have heard the songs so many, many times that we forget there are people who still haven't heard them. LOL If you somehow haven't heard We Will Rock You + We Are the Champions, then listen to those (must be back-to-back - even on the radio they are played as one song). Tie Your Mother Down is great. Bicycle Race is fun. Fat Bottomed Girls is really fun. Radio Ga Ga. I Want it All. Under Pressure (with David Bowie). There's just soooo many great songs!

To me one of the greatest Queen songs is Show Must Go On. It was one of the last Freddie recorded before he died and was so sick in the studio that he was propped on a stool very often. It makes the song hit even harder knowing that considering it is one of his best vocal performances and the rest of the band seems to be playing like it is the last time they will ever be able to play for him again.

there are some songs on queen's first 3 records that will blow you away with how dynamic their early sound was. the contrast of their heaviness with Freddie makes them a treasure for rock, prog and metal. amazing !

@Lost In Vegas If you fellas can disregard that absolutely no one else will make this suggestion, then I got something really good for you. You should do a run through of the entire Queen II album. While it had moderate sales after its release, it has become well revered by the fan base over time, and many (including me) see it as their best album, and that is saying something considering their body of work!! Brian's guitar work is simply stratospheric and of course Freddie and the boys show up hard too. Some of the songs run together so you would actually get 5 or 6 or maybe 7 videos out of the whole thing. Procession/Father to Son/White Queen would be #1 as they all run together. Someday One Day (Brian on vocals) and Loser in the End would be #2 (Roger on vocals) as they do too. That would conclude side White. (yes, they named it that). From side Black, (where Brian *really* rips) Ogre Battle would be #3, a solo video. Then, The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke and Nevermore run together and would be #4. Next is The March of the Black Queen and Funny How Love Is together for #5. Then finally, the only song that got any radio airplay at the time and since, The Seven Seas of Rye for #6. This album absolutely defines the term "hidden gem". You guys may end up putting the whole thing on your playlists. It really is *that* good.

I started going to concerts in 1973 and continue to today. I saw Queen live in concert three times and without a doubt Freddie Mercury was the best front man I’ve ever seen. Mick Jagger is a close second. Brian May doesn’t get the recognition he deserves when people talk about the best guitar players of all time. Gentlemen, I suggest that you dive into Queen’s first album, you can start with “Liar” and keep going. I think you will enjoy almost every song on this fantastic debut album.

The fans are known as the "Queen Army" your sub count will go through the roof the more Queen you do. Especially if you do Live Aid 85 20 minute full set. No one could control a crowd of 70 plus thousand people the way Freddie could. The band was always better live than recorded, the editing equipment of the day took away from their talent, because raw, they were better than the editing equipment. Jump in the Queen rabbit hole, you wont want to come back up because they are going to take you for a ride and across so many genres of music. If you do live aid. please do the full set, not parts, if you do it in parts, you won't get the full effect of what went down in history as the best rock performance in history. The fundraiser was not bringing in much money, then Queen hit the stage and stole the show, and in their 20 minute set, raised 1.2 million dollars. Oh and here is a link to a live version of Stone Cold Crazy kzbin.info/www/bejne/imm1l5Vnf9mgn8U

Queen is indeed a versatile band, covering a variety of distinct genres,. In addition to the ones mentioned in this video, here are a few more: Crazy Little Thing Called Love: Rockabilly Somebody to Love: Gospel (Uptempo) Who Wants to Live Forever: Broadway Ballad Get Down Make Love: Sultry groove Love of My Life: Acoustic Ballad Campy Soundtrack: Flash Gordon (an early 80's movie) What other band could have Metallica, Extreme, Elton John, Axel Rose, George Michael, Robert Plant and Roger Daltry (among many others) play at their singer's memorial concert without any one of them feeling out of place?

Apparently, Freddie had the idea for this song 7 years before the album. And I totally agree that it is thrashy. I think the fact that Metallica covered it justifies that statement.

The first ever Rock band to be inducted into the songwriters hall of fame, very rear you get a band where all members penned hit records. One of the reasons their albums were so rich and eclectic. I'd start at their first album 'Queen' and go from there.
