This record was genius on so many levels. They even paid homage to the greatest storyteller of all time, Slick Rick. Not only with the title of the track, but with the level of story telling. The painted a very vivid picture. Then when Kendrick Lamar came in crying, and stayed in character...I can't take no more. I need a Lil Wayne and Kendrick Lamar full album.

My favorite line is "I say good girl, just remember what I told you, she gave me the salute, I say girl you're a soldier". Wayne really is a musical genius. Every line in his songs has at least 3 different meanings and they all make sense within the story he's telling. And he doesn't write anything down on paper. That's incredible. I don't see how he keeps it all straight in his head.
@tonyfortune3467 ай бұрын
Every line has 3 different meanings? I'm a big Wayne fan too but let's not get hyperbolic. Every line in his songs is not a triple entendre.
@DeMonSpencer7 ай бұрын
@tonyfortune346 I was using hyperbole to make a point, which I assumed was obvious. Most people get that it's not meant to be taken literally. Lil Wayne's lyrics are often layered and nuanced, which is what I was pointing out. Sure, "every line" is an exaggeration, but it illustrates his talent... but since you uncapped the red pen I have a few notes and corrections too. A triple entendre usually involves something sexual or risqué, which wasn't the case with the line I mentioned. If we're gonna grade each other's homework here let's at least be fair. 😆

For those that dont know, I believe this song is in reference to Karrine Steffans, the chick that claimed that she will always do whatever Wayne wants, regardless if she's in a relationship or not. Shes interviewed on Vlad TV (superhead) saying that shes been married/in serious relationships and would leave her bed at 3 am to go meet up with him. Basically, it was a condition that any guy that wanted to be with her had to accept before being with her (that she would always submit to what Wayne wants, including sex). Just a little back story for the listener as to the content of the song.

Im 33, been listening to lil wayne since I was like 13 from the block is hot days - I love all his shit. This album to me is kinda poppy - meaning its got like a mix of different stuff, much like Carter 3 - instead of just straight killer rap. There are a few songs that do sound like they could be mixtape songs, but all in all I think it is a great album especially for rap in 2018.

Any good?

yamasakiii Capri I think it's pretty good, if you in the mood for some really conscious deep shit and some great lyricism this the album for you but other than that if you into club bangers then this not the album for you. one song in particular that I really enjoy off the album is Haile Selassie ft Nikki Jean

@MDPK1736 жыл бұрын
berm Nah you disrespecting Wu-tang, you really think they'd hop on a track with a trash ass rapper just for some money? Hell nah they got too much respect for the genre to do that.

The Album is great and for the most part the majority agree how great the Album is and that it was a very good comeback for Wayne. But yes the album is great some of the songs sound a bit dated, just a bit but even those songs are good because its Wayne's sound. So its the good kind of dated, the one you didn't really noticed you missed until you hear it from the one who started a lot of these new/now old sounds. For some its a bit long, maybe like 2 or 3 tracks people have been saying they could have not been there. I think over 500k first week sold which is great nowadays and great for someone that's been sooooo long without releasing an Album. The Album is fire.

The album is a solid 8/10 for me. 23 tracks so there's a bit of filler here and there but the good easily outweighs the mediocre.

Soulaimane Agalf I agree, I’ll give it a 7.5/10. Very solid. I think he should’ve kept it the way it was when he first made it tho

I give it a 7. I feel that it's got alot of filler that take away from the album.

Remember when albums had 20+ tracks with no fillers?
