Only issue is that they take his words for a story, like a novel of someone else. They analyse and chuckle about it from a 3rd perspective, but they don't feel that he lived these moments from what I could tell. They speak in an upbeat tone, not like the morose and almost satirical overshadowing tune.

Its been known to be his FIRST Studio Album. He considers it a mix tape cause of how he distributed it, not for commercial or financial means.. he wanted the audience to feel him as an artist and see if they receive well to his project...which it did... some would say it shoulda been sold for profit. Kendrick Lamar brings hope back to hip hop!! Best Rapper since the 90's! OG ❤❤ I love ya'll from the classic rock to the metal to the hip hop. I'm 42 and grew up on hip hop but was around ALOT of metal in school with some friends and have older siblings into the classic rock 80's. Other into old school 80's hip hop and the glam rock😂🤣😂😂 This channel is 🔥🔥🔥

Love the review! I wanna add something though, I think the "maybe cause I'm a dreamer and sleep is the cousin of death" line is him saying he has dreams as in aspirations for people to be better or have a better life, but his dreams are the cousin of death so it's almost hopeless. Like his dreams are trying to kill him or something because people either won't listen or the "system" is holding on too tight, keeping them down. Just what I get out of it, but I think you guys are right too considering what the line is surrounded by. Sleep is the cousin of death is also a famous Nas lyric that's been quoted everywhere, but you probably knew that.

I love the irony in the “never fade away” part. As she spills her doctrine, she continues to fade away trying to justify her actions, which makes her a lost cause not only to Kendrick, but also to what might inevitably happen to her in society. I like that attention to detail in the music. After all of the years hearing this song, I’ve recently picked up this interpretation . Great stuff!

The second verse is from the perspective of Keisha's sister (a continuation of Keisha's Song from Section.80) - It's an angry sister calling Kendrick out for writing a song about her sister. I love the depth of this song so much.

500K 🙌 Let's get it !!! I really love this song it's in my playlist and I always thought just the subtle things about the song like how he adds sound effects to enhance the lyrics or how he gives you a perspective while also describing with good lyricism. His song is also great for those who aren't into hip-hop to understand where he's coming from and and how rough it was in his shoes. Great song from Kendrick and still bumping it !! Wonderful review Lost In Vegas.
