Our son went to school with Craig’s son at Curry Ingram . Their friends called them the twin towers. This song makes me think of their son Jerry- he is already home due to a very unexpected boating accident. We love every song Craig sings, he has such a lovely meaningful way of conveying what matters in life. Jesus, America and the relationships God blesses us with.

Nicholas Kuetemann, I'm already there was the 1st country song I ever heard (not counting from movies, etc). It was after my divorce and I was driving back home late at night with my son. It was for him to see his dad, it was a 4 hour drive. My son was only 5 and didn't like what I was listening to (Metallica), I turned on the radio and this was on, he said "stop momma". We listened to the song and he began sobbing uncontrollably. I thought something was wrong so I pulled over. I jumped into the backseat and held him. When he calmed down he said, momma we don't have to come down here all the time now, daddy's already with me. I didn't get it because I didn't really listen to the song. He went on to explain his view of the song and he broke my heart. It's amazing what kids pick up on. I'll always love that song, from my baby's ears.

I heard a horrifying story once of a young girl who was so desperate to make friends that she hung out with some bad kids. Took her to a swamp or deserted area where they beat her up and killed her. Her mom said they played that song at her funeral. After hearing that story (and it was almost 25 years ago), I still can't listen to that song w/out crying.

First time hearing this song. Through the first chorus it hit hard. Would like to have had a change to the chorus later to suggest some resolution. Country song writers are killer, jokes about "country songs" notwithstanding. I once heard someone explain the difference between rock and country (there weren't 1,000 categories back then) as, "Rock music is about how life should be. Country is about how life is."

Any Keith Whitley would be outstanding. Tell Lorrie I love her... I'm over you. I mean like so many of the greatest artist, across all genres of music, Keith was haunted by his past. Had such talent and ability. His demons eating him alive were his bane and the driving factor that propelled him to preform at such a legendary level in his genre. The history of Keith is both inspiring and tragic, sadly like so many of the legends. A man could stand to learn so much from Keith's life. Mainly that no matter your endeavors in life, if you allow yourself to be constantly enveloped by raw emotion it can irrevocably alter the trajectory of your future and every person that you touch. God bless. And thanks for all that you guys do to bring people together in such a unique way, like only music and open minded "free thinkers" can

What I wouldn’t give for some of the good old days of just riding around with him or waking up in the mornings to the smell of homemade syrup and memaw’s pancakes and the feel of those smooth sheets of my grandparents house. I wish I could explain in words just what this song means to me. Have you ever heard a song as an adult, and as you're listening to it, it brings you back to your childhood? It reminds you of the people you've lost, but had amazing memories with, and as you're listening to it, you get flashes of those memories. That's what this song does for me. It reminds me of the most important people I had in my life, because I grew up just like this. That's how important this song is for me.

That's why country is beautiful. It makes you feel things you may not be used to feeling. It shakes you, it lifts you, then it grounds you. Not many other genres can do that.

Haven't heard this in years... damn. You guys should give Randy Travis a listen sometime. Might I recommend Deeper than the Holler or Digging Up Bones. Three Wooden Crosses is also great but kinda sad. Too many sad country songs already. Well singing up bones isnt really a party tune eather... Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy by Big & Rich. There's you're party song damn it.

My dad died of lung, stomach and brain cancer a year ago yesterday. One of the last healthy memories I have of him was sittin at the kitchen table talking over coffee. He asked me to play this song on my Google Home... I played it and sat there watching and enjoying my dad sing this song. Now when I hear it, even right now, it brings tears to my eyes. This is one of those songs that hits home on a very very personal note. Thanks for doing this song guys.

I have always been a fan of this song. Coming from rural GA, you hear and see on television about homeless people on the street. The first I witnessed this myself was when I went to NYC and saw it for myself for the first time. A family curled up under a blanket, sleeping under a blanket. It ripped my heart up. I guess you get use to it but definitely presses on your heart.
