Hey Larry, I've watched nearly all your videos for a long time and enjoy them all. My refinishing skills are practically nothing compared to yours, but I've picked up great tips from you. I look forward to whatever you post in the future. I've never had a problem with your production values and as for you talking too much, keep it up, that's how we learn!

I appreciate the effort and the time you've taken to share the knowledge you have garnered. A large part of the value of the channel is you talking (not too much) to help me understand your thought process. I understand your decision and I just hope that the KZbin trolls did not in any way influence your decision. Best wishes and I look forward to any content you are able to share with us.

For what it's worth your videos and a few other people here have really inspired me to go out and buy used stuff and restore. Viewing these videos has really changed my mindset in so many ways and my step kids now think I'm the coolest because I'm not only "vintage" myself. ;)

Larry, watched all your videos because I am a fellow woodworker, and like to see other artisans and how they do what they do. Your content has always been fine, and the rugged camerawork is in its self a part of the charm. That said do what makes you happy, but remember your reach out stretches the views, you have inspired others and thanks for that.

your videos were amongst the very first i had watched before picking up the first piece of furniture i repaired. years later i still “fool” around with wood, putting some shiny stuff on it 😊 and loving every second i spend doing so. so, i guess i just wish to say thank you, i learned a lot from your videos…and while im sad seeing less of your videos, i absolutely understand; i take my my hats of to all who record, narrate and post videos about the process, because i would not want to do it ever; i like my focus being entirely on the project, the wood and the shiny stuff, and not thinking of anything else, certainly not about camera angel, light nor sound. 😊 so, thank you one more time for all i could learn from your videos, for all the work that went into the making of those videos

Like many of your followers/subscribers, I’ve always found your videos a joy to watch and learn from. One of the joys of my life has been our friendship. I only regret that our shops are 2,654 miles apart. The folks at Mohawk should be thrilled that you have introduced many of us to their finishing and touch up products. Your eye for color has been eye opening. I thought toners were used in beauty shops - now I know better. Whatever time you share with us, we’ll be grateful and thankful. Take care Larry, you’re a keeper.

I’ve been out of the loop due to some lengthy family matters so I’ve just seen this video. I’m sorry that we won’t be seeing as much of you because you’re one of the few authentic professionals out there, and are kind enough to share your experience and vast knowledge with us. I’ve enjoyed every video you’ve ever made and I much prefer having you talk to us throughout the video instead of the annoying electronic musical background filler the other KZbinr hacks do. Watching one of your videos is like sitting in a lecture hall at uni with the prof dropping pearls of wisdom. Not only have I learnt from you, but also have been inspired. Patience has never been one of my virtues but seeing you methodically attend to all the little details needed to properly refurbish a piece is a my reminder that good work takes time. Thanks so much, and I look forward to whatever you post next.

Hi Larry, I've been worried about you and I was really happy that you put up a video. I for one have throughly enjoyed all your videos. Your Singer sewing machine videos have been extremely valuable to me and I'm sure many others would say the same. I think you've helped me pass the time through 3 back surgeries (all in the same week) plus a shoulder surgery. I just had my other shoulder done and you popping up made me smile. Anyway, I'll recover just fine and I can watch reruns, lord knows there's nothing on TV of any value... You just do what you need to do. I've always thought your productions were just fine. There's a lot of unpleasant people who feel they can say anything to anyone and move on their merry way to their next victim. Those people don't matter. Just know I have the "bell" activated and I'll watch your videos when they show up. In the mean time, be well, take good care, and we'll leave the light on for ya. 😊 PS I did teach you one little thing, the thinner, curved wooden bit under a treadle machine is call the cradle. Thanks for the videos. (edited to correct a spelling error)

I certainly remember that cradle lesson. I was calling it a "garage" before you set me straight! LOL. Hopefully you will recover soon from your surgeries. I have a couple of old knees and a shoulder that may need some maintenance down the road, but so far they are holding up OK. Best to you and yours.

Hi Larry, I’ve watched all your videos and learned A LOT from you. I started my hobby/shop 5 years ago at 50 and could not have accomplished some the things I have without the knowledge passed on by you and some others. I’m about to finish up a 1928 Singer and would have never attempted had I not seen your video ( cabinet reassembly begins next week 😮). We will take what you can give us. I attempted to video one project and understand 100% what you are saying, as much as I would love to share my experience I just can’t seem to learn woodworking, commentary, editing, restoration and videography all at the same time. Sticking with posting on Instagram for now. Best of luck to you and your family, Your neighbor from NC.

I found your channel last night, and really learned so much from your restoration of the 1910 Singer cabinet posted a few years ago. As I start my VERY amateur restoration of a similar cabinet I picked up from Facebook Marketplace, your video was very helpful. I like the fact that it was not about a snazzy production, but about the project and the techniques, and I did think about how much time it must take to produce these! Glad I watched this one this morning and learned in your Epilogue here that you'll still post videos on your channel as time will allow. (Thanks for the backstory how you started doing this too!) I'm a Georgia native so when I found your videos and heard "Kennesaw," it was great! Also, so loved seeing you in your UGA sweatshirt! Go Dawgs!

I oft times have wondered how much the video took away from the work process and thinking and you confirmed that also. I respect your decision to work and do video's at your discretion makes good sense to me. your content and quality was more than enough to convey what you were trying to teach the viewers. Once I've run out of your old videos to watch, I'll probably be gutted to have to wait more for the next ones, but looking after yourself is the more important thing and time is really the only truly limited resource we have. I'm glad you are making the best choice fo you in that regard and trust you will continue to do so, whatever that is at any given time. Thank you for this entire channel!

I enjoyed this video, and I think you do a great job with your content and recording. I think that a lot of us viewers just expect to watch whatever we want, and don't think about what you explained; the large amount of time, energy, and especially mental energy it takes to produce these videos. I've thought about making videos before, and I don't think it would be worth it at all to me; so I completely understand your epilogue. You've got a large library of stuff for us to watch/ rewatch, and you shouldn't need to justify why you're not essentially donating huge quantities of time; most of us watching wouldn't do it either. Thanks for what you've shared with us, and all the best to you and your family! We'll watch whatever you may choose to post in the future! : )

Hello from down the road in Marietta. New visitor to your channel. I recently viewed an old (several years) video of yours and was going to write a very critical comment. But I thought I had better see something more current first to see if things have changed. Well they certainly have, and to the better. Your camera work is vastly improved. Your commentary is very good also. The repairs you demonstrate appear to be excellent. I understand the concerns you stated in this video but don't let them bother you. You, as all of us, do what you can and that has to be good enough. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.

It's the talking that helps me understand what's going on. I do not refurbish or refinish and I've found so many who are in the business, unfortunately, do not do a good job. The repair is just as, if not more, important than the finish job. I have a mid century, I think, Drexel drop leaf mahogany dining table that I asked my usual guy to clean up for me and repair one lose leg. It was covered and ready for transport when I picked it up and didn't notice that he'd stripped the top and refinished it. Unfortunately I think the problem with his work was he didn't use any grain filler and now it doesn't even look nor feel like it did before. I feel he had to have seen that and should have known it wasn't even close. Again, I'm no refinisher, but even I can see that it's mucked up. He had always done good work for me in the past but that ended that. You do great work and I do enjoy the videos and commentary and have not seen anything wrong with the video nor audio quality. Best of luck to you and looking forward to another video, whenever "you feel like it!" 😂 😂

Larry, you do what you gotta do! You never talk too much, it is quite informative and relaxing to listen to your narratives. I found your channel when searching for videos of mid-century modern repairs and you have never disappointed! I'm still subscribed and as always, will wait in anticipation of your next helpful video. :-)

Makes you wonder how Thomas Johnson in Maine makes such good videos by himself. I hope you don't lose work with less videos, a lot of KZbinrs (like Bedo's Leatherworks, for example) got a lot of new business because of their videos.

I have just recently discovered you, because I simply haven't watched KZbin that long. I have a lot of catching up to do ! I will be watching those videos I haven't seen. I am both a furniture and sewing machine enthusiast, so your videos will be invaluable to me. I hope, at some point, if you don't already, take on an apprentice. Your art does not need to be lost. Yes, there are the videos, but not like being taught in person. Anyway, I have thoroughly enjoyed binge watching these videos...still got a way to go. BTW, I'm your neighbor, to the west...N. AL. 👍

Good to see you back: I thought for one awful moment that this was going to be the last one. Keep talking - there are too many mute restoration videos. I learn more from the thought processes and problem solving. You're up there with Tom Johnson as the restoration videos to watch.

I have much appreciated your videos and learnt quite a lot from them! And no, you're not talking too much, your running commentary is very valuable! The only thing I might wish is that you get a wireless lavalier mike, as its sometimes a bit hard for me to hear what you're saying.
