Yeah not a lot of people realize that, which is why I say Fuecoco could easily be a Quetzalcoatl, despite people saying nah Chinese zodiac disproven... never count the torchics before they hatch. No crocodilian pokemon stays a crocodile either, totodile becomes an alligator, and Krookodile is a Gharial despite the name.

@@angelerror4086 Yes but they are not crocodiles like Krookodile's name suggests and Totodile is. Crocodilians are the whole family of those types of reptiles, semi aquatic predatory large reptiles. However crocodiles are their own separate category within this family. It's fine for a child to recognize them as oh they're just the same animal, Gharials, Crocodiles, Alligators, Caimin, other modern day ones and prehistoric ones. However it'd be like comparing a Frog and Toad, a shark and a fish like... a goldfish. Sharks are a type of fish in simplicity, but they're their own genus, on the grand scale spectrum of multicellular organisms mammal, amphibian, reptile, fish, bug, or bird sharks fit into fish. It's like comparing an emperor penguin to a macaroni penguin, emperor penguins tower in size over macaroni penguins, and just because both are flightless birds doesn't mean they'd fall into the same category as an Emu or Moa. Another example maybe a better one, lions and mountain lions 2 different types of animals despite being called lions. However Mountain Lions go by various names, Puma, catamounts, or panthers (However did not know panther, was double checking all the other names, that's interesting and I will get into panthers in a bit because of this), they are all the same species just different names, vs crocodiles and alligators 2 different species. However despite having an alternative name of panther or mountain lion, Cougars are actually more related to Cheetahs than other big cats. Same is true of panthers, or Black Panthers which is their full name are essentially a completely black jaguar, however there can also be black leopards that are known as panthers. Black Panthers are essentially just a pigminted leopard or jaguar due to heavy melanin, there are also white panthers where 3 potential things occur Leucism which is just reduction in pigmint, albinism, or a mutation. Meanwhile you got Snow Leopards that are natural not results of those 3 and just nature, evolution, and adaptation. Meanwhile Panthera is the word used for all big cats, Lions are Panthera Leo for example, Panthera Tigris is a Tiger, the word is Latin and originates from the Greek word Panther (with accents over the a and e) which essentially means big cat. Might be easier to just group them, but my point is crocodiles and alligators despite seeming similar are completely different animals. Sorry if I bored you and for my rambling, it's just not as simple as you make it sound or may think.

So I'll make my points simple as possible as I simply ain't motivated after losing 2 drafts of my reply. Ok so my point is the scientific pov isn't correct at least in this context, simply putting it we need to look at this the general language way. For an English example we have strawberry, which is called a berry but isn't exactly a berry according to taxonomy. Similarly parts around the world call alligator and crocodiles the same thing, for example in my mother language (Vietnamese) crocodilians are generally all refered to by the same terms (cá sấu) which are considered by science to actually be just a subfamily of true crocodiles, but vietnamese people still refer to all type of crocodilians as "cá sấu". I do admit I could've worded my og reply better to clarify that it is not english I'm refering to. But I doubt my og reply was correct as a reason why other crocodilian pokemon was named after crocodile, i was just pointing out something. My best guess is that localization team isn't really communicating with the design team on that part, but idk what the japanese name is or mean so this is just an educated guess. Beside pokemons easily change "species", it doesn't function like our world so idk what theory people is talking about and why it isn't true or something (fill me in please). Overall, conclusion: we all just wasted our time miscommunicating with each other on the internet leading to the writing of essays

@@angelerror4086 I mean I'm not talking English, Alligators originate from America sure, but again Gharial, Caiman, you got salt water crocs in Australia, as well as freshwater. It's a difference in body structure, size, and shape. I do get where you're coming from though, and it's fine I don't think you sound like an ass, and you're not wrong, Snivy is a a garter snake then goes into something akin to an Anaconda, Boa Constrictor, or the Basilisk a mythological creature king of snakes. Also not all my terms originate from English, sure root of English is from Latin, but many languages are, and even then panthera still originates from Greek language. I was just saying it's 2 different animals despite seeming similar, like a lion and tiger are big cats, but they're 2 different types of cats. I guess I should've just said it's like comparing apples and oranges, both are fruits but different. I may have gone overboard, and been too all over the place, I tend to do that to prove a point, because I don't want to leave out any loose threads, cover all my basis. I was also saying because of that fact that fuecoco is not likely to stay a crocodilian looking thing, in fact looking at its face I would've said snake over crocodile anyways with the markings, despite having dinosaur looking feet and arms. In fact like Servine and Serperior it looks like its arms are already shrinking in its 1st evo. Maybe that's just me though, I was just making points for why it isn't going to stay as is, and is still likely to follow the chinese zodiac theme, whether people like it or not, and people shouldn't count their chickens before they hatch. In Japanese Fuecoco's name is Hogator which, yeah again means it's a gator I suppose... which complicates things and yes I suppose doesn't prove anything since Fuecoco is short for Fuego and cocodrilo meaning fire and crocodile respectively. All in all... yeah rip us, we wasted our times, but I enjoy long conversations and learned some things which is always neat. Doesn't prove or disprove anything I guess, but I still say chickens being counted too quickly. I personally don't care if it maintains the theme of chinese zodiac... might bug my OCD bit but whatever, I like patterns oh well. However it wouldn't matter to me in the long run. I think Sprigatito still follows the grass theme of irl evolution, and Quaxly easily could follow the water theme of weapons already looking like a naval duck. However again, it's fine if they don't have a theme. Sorry you lost so much effort and time, I've had that happen many times.

Noble, snakes irl actually evolved from animals with arms and legs. Its counterintuitive at first, but the 1st snakes had underground habit, which means having limbs would make it harder for them dig down into the earth, making it so the ones with smaller and smaller limbs, until no limbs at all, survived and had children while the ones with limbs died. :)

@@micahlindley7515 DNA thoughout the life span of an organism will mutate to deal with the challenges it faced during it's life span, this change while minor becomes part of the offspring. Meaning in theory if you spent you're entire life training to be a climber you're child would inherent the DNA atturbutes needed to preform that task efficiently, then mutate further for a high performance if that child continued using those traits in life this would repeat over and over till the performance of the 4th generation would outclass the first in all basic area's. applying this to the long term of millions of years it's likely even the formation of bone and muscle would change to become the perfection of what a climbing organism can achive.

Gardevoir might be my second favorite pokemon, but for very innocent reasons. The first videogame I ever owned was pokemon sapphire, and near the very start of the game you could catch a raltz (wild level 4 I think) Keep in mind though, there was no exp share, and you had to level it up to 20 to get a kirlia before it actually learned any offensive moves.
