Camped at Quondong many years ago 1986 if I recall correctly and absolutely loved it. No one else came there and I was there for about a week. No 4X4 just an old XT falcon.

That was one heck of a manoeuvring session to get in to what is a stunning spot! Definitely scheduling a few weeks on the Dampier on the circle back itinerary. And that's a shocker there being two black nozzles on two different fuel types. Feel your pain on that one. On the positive side, your engine came out of it ok. Could have been a much more catastrophic situation otherwise. And belated best wishes to the birthday girl!

Hey mate don’t beat yourself up over the fuel issue. Almost did it myself 2 days ago. After 14 hr drive pulled into fuel station pulled out a 98 petrol bowser had it fire up, was about to put into my tank and suddenly realised this isn’t diesel!. Tired, distracted, we are only human. I was lucky and realised just in time

I did the same thing a few years ago, I was in a hurry ….the ex was cranky because I was late collecting my daughter …… so a bit distracted. As I put the pump back on the bowser I realised what I had done…….. fark me I nearly cried! Expensive for sure! It’s a pretty common issue I was told so I was pretty paranoid about choosing the right fuel every time I filled up after that and for a long time. 😂

Bummer about the petrol, diesel 🐓 up. What I found coincidental about that is that earlier this week, I had a small truck come out to pick up a couple of 200 litre drums of something. After he was loaded up, his truck wouldn't start. Plenty of fuel I asked? Yep filled up on the way here. Yep you guessed it, he drove about 40km after putting petrol in his diesel tank. He probably had a 50/50 or thereabouts mix. The truck finally left on the back of the transporter late the following day.

oh geez, not good. We were in Exmouth the other day, 4 vehicle at the mechanics with the same thing.. 1 drove 400kms with a 70/30 mix of petrol in a diesel vehicle. Motor is now cooked.. its sooooo easy to do, hopefully for us never again 🍻 thanks for watching
