Maniacally-adorable! Absolutely-buffoonish! Very-impressive! When it comes to genuine,compelling,and high-spirited comedy stunts,Mr Danny Kaye is very brilliant,truly one-of-a-kind,and simply spectacular.In his 1956 Paramount Pictures' The Court Jester he had apparently done a lot of outstanding,memorable,and hilarious scenes.And one of them was his speedy,clownish,and exciting song number of Ms Sylvia Fine's Maladjusted Jester. Indeed it's a knockout and eye-catching gag scene.

If this is your first experience with this movie, watch the scene before the jousting tournament where Danny Kaye has to memorize which glass has the poison in it. "The pellet of poison is in the vessel with the pestle, the chalice with the palace has the brew that is true". This has been quoted by everyone even Gilmore Girls.

Sylvia Fine was a genius, but I don't know that any other actor/artist then or now could have performed the way Danny Kaye did. Truly, one of the most talented people of all time!
@traceyrich48853 жыл бұрын
How talented was Danny Kaye? He had never used a sword before, but learned it from a professional for this role. In no time Kaye became so skilled that Basil Rathbone, veteran of many swashbuckling movies, couldn't do the fencing scenes with him! Kaye's tutor was in costume doubling for Ravenhurst (Rathbone's character), and it would just cut back to Rathbone for reaction shots. Watch the fencing scenes: you can clearly see it happening! I laugh at that every time I see this movie.

Tired of your usual D&D bard? Try a Jester, a bard with the jester specialization will gain; acrobat, singing, dancing, miming, musical instrument, juggling, stand-up comedy, trained clown, tightrope walking, and dramatist: parody, and advances these skills by exp level gain, not needing to expend points or etc. to raise these skills levels, but gaining other skills in the normal manner of a bard and able to raise both these skills, and those gained more normally, in the normal way, too.
@mikegrossberg8624 Жыл бұрын
I even came up with the Jester's ultimate weapon; the(GASP!) ATROCIOUS PUN! The higher the intelligence level of the hearer, the more hit points of damage they suffer!
@aburninglandfillofbadmovie2930 Жыл бұрын
@@mikegrossberg8624 brilliant! But, I would add that the hearer must be able to understand what's being said, as well (so must speak the language being used). I would also say that if a target is more than X experience levels above you, the ability has a progressively greater % chance of not working.
@mikegrossberg8624 Жыл бұрын
@@aburninglandfillofbadmovie2930 Can you explain why you think that would be? Regarding the language question, there's always "the Common Tongue", spoken by nearly everyone in D&D. Of course, the spell wouldn't work on NON-intelligent critters(after all, a pun is an exercise in THINKING, right?)
@aburninglandfillofbadmovie2930 Жыл бұрын
@@mikegrossberg8624 I simply was meaning to say that it has a lower chance of working on things that are numerous experience levels higher than the user and no chance of working if the target doesn't speak the user's language. So if you used it in common tongue on a level 8 thousand 5 hundred and 19 dragon lord of destruction who didn't speak common tongue it has a good chance of not working.
@mikegrossberg8624 Жыл бұрын
@@aburninglandfillofbadmovie2930 I would think that dragons, being, IIRC, intelligent creatures, WOULD be susceptible to the "Pun", at least to SOME extent
