His tooth were broken during either Amon Hen or Helm's Deep, and Viggo wanted to get it superglued to carry on with the shoot but producer Barrie Osbourne arranged an emergcy appointed at Peter Jackson's dentist so he tooth got fixed during lunch break.

Actually Orlando didn’t complain much. The Hobbits were just teasing. Even Viggo did say later on that it was all about “sucking it up” and just be ready to do your work right away and said that that’s exactly what Orlando did.
