I'm ok with AI dubbed over the actor, PROVIDED it is the actual original actor. For example, Hugo weaving, have him play the role, do the acting, and speak the lines, only AI will de'age his character in real-time. They would have the budget to cover that and make it look convincing.

The real fans needed him in that, we don't care that it's immersion breaking. A 3 film hobbit series by default is immersion breaking however Peter can do whatever he likes with Tolkiens work. He's earned it. And yes that includes a poorly acted cameo

Yes, I would love to see more stories. However, Peter obviously loved his huge big long battle scenes, which took up about half the movie. Battle scenes are somewhat boring for women, we want to see a true plot and a good story line, not just fights. We'd like a lot more humor that women would find funny too. It will be really interesting to see what Andy does with this.

It's unknown if Bombur fought at the Battle of Dale during the War of The Ring, even though he was canonically living at the Lonely Mountain at the time, but I like to think he did. I have an image in my head of a Bombur seemingly too fat to walk but still able to swing a mighty hammer from his carrying chair. No enemy can get past him. I also like to imagine him rising easily out of his chair, to the exasperation of his exhausted attendants, and charging the enemy lines. These thoughts please me. If I had any artistic ability I'd draw them.
