There is another easy check and fix that fixed mine. Down inside the window frame above the latch, there is a single screw that, if loose, impedes the window rising and it stops.

Aha - no lack of fun projects when you own a Lotus. They come partially assembled from factory, but the real fun is saved for us after we buy them! lol.

I had this issue and fixed the sticking or non actuating microswitch with some WD 40 and then playing around with the door catch and lock alignment. It takes some patience but I have it working. I couldn’t find a good diagram or picture either. I have a 2012 Evora . Love the car, hate the high price of parts. Thanks for posting this GMGN Chris in Miami

That's awesome to hear. It's unfortunate I didn't keep my broken door hinge. I might have been able to mess around with it and get it to work. Glad to hear that you were able to get it working. Any of the lotus special parts are definitely expensive. But if you luck out. Sometimes you can get alternative parts from Toyota or other cars that fit because Lotus use them.

Thanks, more useful everyday issue info! I have not had this issue with my 2013, but at least now know what to do! I do have a question, though, do the Evora’s windows have the auto-up feature that our other cars do? I notice the Evora has an auto-down feature, but not up. Or do I need to reset that? Thanks for the great videos-always fun to see when you’ve made a new one!

The Evora windows are only auto down. But not auto up. Luckily they're fairly small window so it only takes a few moments to close them.

Very cool. Wife has a 2013 Evora. (See, I don't have that problem with my Elise. Hehe)

Manual windy window Elise? Sometimes I miss the simple things; being able to reach over and wind down the passenger window is lost art.

@@GoodmorningGoodnight no, electric. I have the force-fed Turbo Elise that was featured in autoweek. 1975 lbs, 285hp. Storm titanium.

My microswitch didn’t work for two years (since I bought the car). Last week I heavily sprayed WD-40 with PTFE straight up in the latch area while the latch was partially closed. After doing that over and over again all of a sudden the switch started working again. Dash indicated door open and the interior lights turned on. I am still working on the window drop part though. I don’t think it is a bad regulator since the window works flawlessly. I have read that the programming sometimes doesn’t work and then randomly after doing it, it will start working. With that said, I think these latches get gummed up causing the microswitch to not work. If you still have your old switch I would hack into it to understand about it.
