Hi, thanks for this informative video. I've just purchased the latest edition of this yacht, it now does have forward speed control but still no reverse when pulling the throttle stick opposite to forward position. I'm not too fussed about having a servo rudder, but is there any way to add reverse using the provided stick style transmitter? If not, what stick transmitter would you recommend so that I could make the motors reverse. Thanks.

I had to put 2 new speed controllers and hobby grade radio control in to mine. You would need to limit the the speed in reverse -as suddenly spinning the props backwards can cause the propeller retaining nuts to undo themselves - and cause the propellers to be lost forever at the bottom of the lake. It is not easy to find spare propellers as a spare part. Controlling the motors separately requires a mix in the radio control - so a programmable transmitter - such as the Flysky i6x needed.

Really interesting video and I learned a lot. Is the Henglong Atlantic the same as the Henglong Salina?

Looking at the pics, I would say not. The Salina looks to be of a much larger scale - but a similar size, although I dare say that they may share a lot of components. :)

MY god... I'm the first to comment? !!! :) An informative and interesting video... I found this clip by chance when I looked up about the boat in question.. how did you get it for 40 quid?!!!! I saw it on ebay for around £180! However... more serious comments... and please take with respect and politeness as I'm a non-modeller but interested... firstly, you seem to be a guy with good modelling experience... to better replicate the true nature of driving a twin engine boat, I'd have looked at independent motor controls, plus installing servo operated rudders. Your control to turn the boat on the spot is correct but only something done in tight manoevering... when cruising a boat steers by it's rudder. Second point... was it not possible to fit your receiver and 2 speed controllers inside the casing the original radio came out of? Would have been neater.... Third point... you seem to have 2 switches for each speed control, plus an overall on/off switch for the boat. Could you not combine these into a single 3 pole switch? But like I say.... I'm not the modeller... just food for thought and I'm sure you have your reasons... only other comment I have is on the boat itself... although it looks sleek and is the style I'd want, it sounded very flimsy and cheap in construction, the props didn't seem to run smoothly and it sounded very noisy... Cheap propshafts? About what I'd expect for a cheap model but certainly gave food for thought to how I would have upgraded it! Good video though and informative.. well done :)

Thank your for your very thoughtful comments. Sellers often price this sort of thing at a great variety of prices. Always worth scouting ebay and amazon and even bangood before pushing the button! This boat is very much a toy. In the end I found that reversing the props at ant speed caused them to come off & be lost. I did find that using the rudder in combination with varying the speed of the props helped with tight turns, but the rudder was enough most of the time. I tend to spread the RC around the boat - didn't even think of putting in the original position. The top cover is pretty water tight. These days I tend to put multi ESCs on a single switch on the battery and solder the individual switch wires on the ESCs to permanently "on". It is very noisy - probably a lot out of balance plus a very large "sound chamber". Foam or something wrapped around the prop shafts and prob more support for them would prob help. But at £40 I couldn't resist! Thank you again for your thoughtful comments! 😀👍
