I would love it if someone had a copy to upload, of his SNL performance, when he performed Original Wrapper - and Walk On the Wild Side. Great performances that night. 😺

This has LAST EXIT vibes. Great song. People who bash this stuff must have missed all of the silliness and "cringiness" of the Velvets. Lou at his best, IMHO -- much more interesting and fun in retrospect than the blowhard stuff like NY.

He’s so “ON”! No disrespect intended, but I can’t listen to this without thinking of the SNL skit with Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken with the cowbell. “They’d be doing themselves and everyone else a disservice if they didn’t perform the hell out of this thing!” This is amazing. They are all so in the zone. I just love Lou Reed! Some of his greatest talent was in arranging and directing. He had it all. These lyrics are hilarious, too. “Hey pitcher, better check that batter”.

I now understand what he means in Candy Says about wanting walk away from one’s body…
