Signing artists off of TikTok is a shot in the dark. You have to discern who's actually a music artist from who's riding a trend. Like any art, you have to learn the fundamentals before you just branch out on your own most of the time. Yeah there are exceptions, but this industry is extremely saturated and competitive. You can't just assume one thing like tiktok will be your easy way in. You have to network. Build from the ground up so you have a decent foundation. Then after you learn the fundamentals and you put in work and earn trust in your fans AND those at the top, you can start doing things on your own. Nothing in this world is easy. Ever. If you're afraid of hard work, then you're definitely in the wrong field.

So sure your numbers look fantastic on the internet but your real fans is probably 100k spread around the world which if your booking shows you can't fill the venue because your fan base is too small compared to what you originally thought

And yes either fans are super loyal and ride for any song u do, but at dome point ppl might get board if ur not consistent in making good music, or not consistent with your concept, ppl start looking elsewhere. Here in lies the problem for Hip-Hop nowadays; for every viral "Crank That", "Chicken Noodle Soup" or "Lip Gloss" which would go viral, you still had quality artists propping up the game: Lil' Wayne, Jay-Z, T.I., UGK, Mobb Deep, Ludacris, Outkast, The Game, DMX, Twista, Jeezy, JaRule, Kanye etc. we had viral moments but consistent artists. What also made Hip-Hop of the 90's/2000's unique was the variety in artists and sounds. There aren't even anymore iconic beats like a Forgot About Dre/Act A Fool/Make it Rain/Drop It Like It's Hot/Touch It/Big Pimpin'/How We Do/In Da Club...the list is endless...now? I'm not even sure

Right, most Tiktok song beats sound the same, no unique beat production.

the disrespect to faygo bro is crazy. he's had bangers and hits, but people aren't just tapped in. The downside his management team and label do not know how to market properly. He's hella talented and unique... the respect he gets from producers and other artists are totally different from "fans". Yes knock knock did blow up on tik tok unintentionally, but dude has so many other bangers like everyday, off the map, hits on hits, the world is yours, gear 2, hyakkimura etc. dude is on the SoundCloud mount rushmore.. after Juice Wrld, X, Uzi, Slump were dominating the SC game... the bar was set high but it was hella dry, but the rzn why 19-21 sc was hitting was cause faygo was owning the underground. mfs saying he fell off... popularity wise sure, 7k album sells is wtv but that doesn';t take away from the quality of the album being top notch. his angelic vocals (top tier tone varying, mastered the high pitch voice in example) along side his catchy rap flow makes him the definition of what a melodic rapper should really be. Versatile asf, and the production his songs are always elite. 1. cause S/O the fire producers, but it's also his beat selection and portability to be able to make art over those beats... if you notice those producers won't be making those top tier beats if it wasn't for faygo rappin over it. But it sucks that this is his rep. cause the dude is talented asf.

i hate the way faygo executed and it pains me because i love his music so much but he refused to drop when the light was on him now his songs are barely getting 10’s of thousands of views compared to his millions back in his underground days

It’s kinda ignorant that you say Flo milli success hasn’t been seen by the charts because of TikTok, when in reality, I don’t believe she seeks TikTok fame. She never has tbh, imo. She’s hard working and you can very much tell she finds her craft important. Secondly, “never lose me” IS her song. She can’t help the fact that TikTok blows up her songs, but that doesn’t make her ultimately a TikTok artist. She’s been out before TikTok, and definitely doesn’t make music strictly for the app.

14:47 Never Lose Me is Flo Milli's song, featuring Lil Yachty, not the reverse. Come on. This hit was also released featuring SZA and Cardi B. I love your videos Louaista, but this was incorrect and disrespectful

Heya, i barely comment on anything at all on youtube, i enjoy your videos and i watch almost every single one of them, i understand that most of them are for highlighting problems etc. so i wonder do you have a pipeline for making videos in other direction e.g. "How a rapper's pan became so good" etc.?

what we aren't going to do is discredit a hard working rapper, underrated, and may i add DARKSKIN female rapper in a male dominated and colorist feild. You obviously didnt do enough research, that IS flo millis song and its people like you that discredit these"one hit wonders" you're no better.

“TikTok rappers” are just the new SoundCloud rappers, as TikTok just became a better option for artists who actually wanna blow up.
