Wow Lou took me right back to the Roger Moore days of James Bond. This unit is a year older than I am. The minute I saw this unit I thought boy that is the James Bond car! I love the color of this unit and the chrome is so beautiful and on the exhaust it was really neat. I had a great time on the ride along too. So many neat things this car has that surprise you. The fold flat floor was awesome neat for a trip for luggage and so forth. The way that spare tire comes down is really neat! I loved that engine sound and that straight six I bet was a smooth idle and run. The owner was so neat too and the love he has for this unit is awesome. It came from my home state here Ohio! Thanks for sharing this neat car Lou!

Yes, the color is indeed beautiful. This is my imagine of the quintessential sports car. This DB2 is simply perfection in and out. The reason these cars did not have all the little toys is because the buyers, unlike today, were true sports car enthusiasts. They wanted lightness, quality, and power and not much more. One thing I always loved with these early sports cars are those almost 1920's looking flat steering wheels up close to the dash. The biggest problem with driving one of these must be deciding when to head back home!

I love when Lou brings something other than US cars! And this is clearly a six figure car! Very nice. Thanks Lou! BTW, being of this vintage, when you asked for the owner to step on the brake to see the tail lights, in my head, I was betting only one would work, if any. But, being restored, I'm sure the entire electrical system was refit.

Thank you Lou for your review and thank you Peter for showing us your MkIII. You guys just about covered everything about this car. I guess it's a good thing that James Bond used a DB5 because I have a hard time picturing a MkIII with rolling license plates, machine guns, oil slick and tack dispenser and a bullet proof shield at the back window area. In the Goldfinger book, does Ian Fleming mention any gadgets on the MkIII?
@loucostabile4 жыл бұрын

It is so unusual. My friend had that car. It was rocket fast. But this car here… It is a work of art. Personally I would rather own the Plymouth yet this is… Beautiful
