I've watched every season of idol, and by far Maddie Poppe is the all around best idol had to offer, not say she is the most successful,prettiest,sexy but she is unique and seems like truly a good person who all around. She definitely deserves more success and respect from the music industry. My favorite American Idol.

"Nothing Compares 2 U" - she almost turns this into a country vibed rendition and while there were a lot of good performances, when presented with 'what was your favorite' it is the one I go to. Maybe because it was also the one that brought her to the forefront of my attention and because I was not familiar with the song. Speaking of Maddie songs, I'm sure you will agree that "Songs from the Basement" is musically and lyrically an enjoyable listen which I'd recommend to anyone who is a fan, waiting for her next album and haven't listened to it. Music is so subjective that you could have picked any of her AI submissions to be in the top 5 - it wouldn't have mattered.
