The whole band is proud of their collaboration with Lou. They did it for a reason. And that's because Lou Reed is one of the best musicians of all time. Of course their "fans" wouldn't appreciate it because they just want a thrash album. They don't care about them doing something different. Lulu is far from perfect, but It's certainly not a bad album at all. The band knew people wouldn't like it, but they didn't care about that. They legit wanted to do it because they love Lou's music and poetry.

Contraband was MSG, L.A. Guns, Ratt, Vixen and Shark Island... Michael Schenker left the Scorpions in 1979 and had released about 7 albums under the Michael Schenker Group/McAulley Schenker Group before Contraband, so it's a fair bit of a stretch to stick Scorpions on there.. the vocalist is Richard Black of Shark Island. The Contraband album wasn't bad, it just didn't sell... solid bit of late 80s hard rock

All of their covers are awesome, their original material to me is not very dynamic. Their entire catalog has similar tempos and tone, the lyrics can be super cheesy, and the song topics for the most part I couldn't give a shit less about. When the band formed they tried to bring Tommy Lee on as the drummer, this could have lit a fire under them. Chad Smith is a great funk drummer, but this just doesn't work. The irony here is amazing-Chickenfoot is a rock band with a funk drummer, the Chili Peppers ate shit with Dave Navarro for bringing a rock guitarist into a funk band.

tinted windows sounds like U2, hanson dude sounds so much like bono and music has that old new wave sound. I'm surprised to be first to notice. I'm going to have to like my own comment.

Contraband was a super group before the word even existed. I agree with you whole heartedly! Take it step further & I'll even say that Heaven & Hell (Dio & Black Sabbath) were the very first super group!

MrKrwillis72, Cream and Blind Faith were supergroups WAY before Contraband and Heaven & Hell were ideas, and Cream & Blind Faith were good.

Sounded like they actually meshed well together instead of a garage band practice.

I actually think Lulu was an interesting project. You will have to see it for all it’s artsy absurdist qualities. But there is a storyline running through it, a commentary on social issues and how society excludes people. It’s an album that will get recognition with time.

That song was an old blues standard - The one group they didn't mention in that list was Shark Island (which is where the singer came from). And sure, nobody but a rare few know who Shark Island is NOW, but back then, they were kind of a big deal. And this album is killer, it's still in my play list. I just wish they had released any other song on that album as a single. There may have been more interest.

You know, I wouldn't count Rockstar supernova, that was a reality show thing, along with damnocracy, which Bach wanted to call fist. Lou Reed and Metallica was more of a collaboration than anything else, but holy shit was some of this shit bad.
