Anderson is such a kind hearted man. I remember i helped him out on buying a tablet for his niece recently at my first job last year. Since he doesn't even though he didn't know what it does. I'm glad i spend an hour with that man. So patient and funny. And it cracks me up because he's so outdated with everything yet he can sure make you crack a smile.

Louie has that old-school comedy that never gets old. I love modern comics like Chappelle, Bill Burr, Louis CK and I loved Pryor and Carlin, but Louie had this great, simple approach that never gets old. He’s as funny in interviews as he is in standup. Sucks he died after having that great role in Baskets.

Some pretty harsh comments here. I've seen some other recent stand up performances by Louie on other late night shows, and he was hilarious. This was just a bad set, it happens. Don't judge a comedian from 3 mins of standup.

CapitalJ2 Totally, his standup was a bit off here, but I personally feel like he’s at his best when just riffing with a host during an interview anyway.

Louie's standup sets are really more in the genre of humor than comedy. He typically doesn't get huge knee-slapping laugh lines and the audience doesn't always laugh out loud, but they do a lot of smiling and grinning and enjoy his insightful revelations about human behavior, in many cases about his own family.

All the people here saying that Louie's comedy is out of touch or dated... I think if you go through life looking at art through that lens then you're doing yourself a disservice more than anything. Sure Louie has a way that harkens to another era of comedy, but so what? Just cause it's not what feels super modern or looks like everything else it's bad? In my opinion his jokes were really funny (even if they are clean) and his delivery is spot on. Grateful Louie is alive, optimistic and still out there doing his thing.

Anyone who is old enough to remember when Louie first started doing stand-up (unfortunately I'm one of those people),. would never have guessed that Louie would still be alive in 2017. If I recall he was on Rodney Dangerfields comedy shows when he first started out. I love Louie to death, but he's always been a bigger guy. And even back in the 80's you just assumed a heart attack was eminent. Im thrilled he's still with us. Though this is probably not his best stand up bit Im afraid. Oh well.

I would love to learn how much of "Life With Louie" is fiction and how much of it is true. Does he mention that anywhere, in his books maybe? How many of the characters are unique besides the family, which ones are composite, is Jeannie Harper real? Do they move it to another level as they grow up or does another "Sean" come in and take her away? So much unknown...

If you don't like it then do 40 years of stand up and get booked in late night, otherwise shut it. If it was bad, then do better or shove off scuttlebutters.

Revisited this after hearing that Louie passed today. I think Louie and Colbert were both a bit off this day. I noticed a few errors in his standup and Colbert seemed just tired or something, which happens at times. I don’t think Stephen was trying to snub Louie. I have seen interviews in which Stephen didn’t care at all for who he was interviewing and it’s pretty obvious.
