I don't really do "westside" training raw anymore becaue I get more practice with sheiko, but the people who say it's not applicable to raw lifters are not thinking outside the box. If I was to train this way raw, it could still be done, you just have to be careful with excercises. For max effort bench I would just switch between 5 second paused bench, 1 second paused bench, touch and go bench, ultra wide bench (this can also be done paused or not) and occasional 3 rm and doubles. For speed I would rotate between 70-75-80 %, and for extra workouts I would add practice sessions for technique work. You don't have to follow someone elses westside program... westside is a set of principles
@BLOEDVLEK6 жыл бұрын
I think the reasoning behind it not working for raw lifters is the lack of volume. Volume being the key driver for change wheras guys wearing equipment overloading is crucial to their improvement.
@TurnTheStoveOnBlaze6 жыл бұрын
Grave Flower Facts. Another reason it doesn’t work well for raw lifters is specificity. You’re constantly changing the exercises every week without dialing the technique in. This was the problems I faced being a novice.
@s57iotukt555 жыл бұрын
+CocainaBlaze speed work is where you work your technique on the classical lift. You have to change the program for novice. Conjugate didn't fail you, YOU failed conjugate.

@MrGordo234512 жыл бұрын
yea it does, many raw lifter use the conjugate system also, but you have to use the proper exercises like he says, but they box squat, you can box squat but you also have to use lifts that build the bottom of the squat but the conjugate system is solid

Yes, he said on fast day word between 50-60 procent of your one rep max. with gear on(chains, powerbands etc). without gear get in between 75 and 85 procent. after 3 weeks move down tot 75 again.

He relaxed his stomach fully so the volunteer could press his fingers deeply into his stomach, then Louie flexed his stomach abruptly and moved the guy's whole body back. He was just demonstrating the power of conditioned abdominals, which is an underappreciated area of foundational strength for everything.
