Most of us raw lifters go to commercial gyms and can't use anything but straight weight anyway. Good to know that we should keep it that way rather than go crazy with accommodating resistance.

Is tapering necessary before a meet? couldn't you just do a lighter week and just follow the weekly template up to the meet?
