I like how he mentions their raw bench. They get unfairly criticized for wearing gear but they can compete with the best raw lifters
@overtenemy694 жыл бұрын
Alejandro Sanchez the clowns who critique westside are clueless. These guys wore gear once a month training so out of 16 training sessions they wore gear for two of those.
@AlejandroSanchez-pl6jw4 жыл бұрын
@@overtenemy69 for real. I don't mind constructive criticism, but at times people just like to insult them. many other popular programs were born from the conjugate method. is it perfect? may be not but 150+ world records and only gym to have both raw and gear total?!! hard to argue that
@PlutoTheGod4 жыл бұрын
overtenemy69 the people who criticize westside blindly follow 5x5 and also wear those doughnut stretchy pants and have never done a impressive list in their life, or they're Chad Wesley Smith

PlutoTheGod which is funny because westside uses the 5x5 too. I mean the programs was built for the lifter which is why there is no set template written in stone

Any advice on when it's impossible to find a great training partner. I live in the middle of nowhere in the Scottish Isles now. And there is nobody who wants to train hard and consistent. I've never been able to find a solid training partner. My partner is my rack barbell and of course safety pins. I make the best with what I got. Those raw numbers are insane. People talking shit about geard lifting clearly have no clue. I've never trained in gear. But I'm becoming way more interested in doing so. Especially since I've completly torn both pecs. Anyway thank you again 🙏

@anonymous pity there's no real lifters around much places. I already press 400 a few times a week raw. I have a sling also for overload days. I was looking into getting a bigger shirt or grab the black sling. 315 is relatively light for me. Interested to see how I could manage some equipment by myself. Can never trust people. Been through 100s of lifting partners. Nobody lasts more than a few weeks. Typical lol. Thank you anyway brother.
