What a wise man....a most cultured man first and actor second. His observations on marriage should be required listening for all those about to embark upon it. What a voice !!! So very very sad for him and his wife to lose their beloved son. May he rest in peace. Peace and Gods blessings be upon you both Mr. Jourdan.

@Kuchlenz I cant believe Louis Jourdan was born in 1921. Only time i saw him on the screens was in that Columbo movie episode "Murder Under Glass" from 1978 and i must say that im still shocked on how young he looked for his age. He was 57 in that movie and i swear to God i didnt think he was more then 40 years old!!! He looked so tall and lean and his hair was still so strong, no signs of baldness at all. And the way he can act is just magnificent. You can tell the guy is a real gentleman.

Wasn't he just wonderful ? Whether singing a heartbreaking Gigi around a fountain, sword fighting as a villain in Montecristo, shutting the window for McLaine in Can Can or frightening Doris Day in Julie he was totally believable and charming. Imagine a marriage of over 60 years. Love at a 1,000th sight. Thank you Louis for gracing us with such lovely, living memories. I am enriched in my soul.

I've been watching it lately a LOT. He is the best, you're right. What culture and sensuality. I was astounded to find out we lost him this year. :(

Brita Cashman-Tarrant Not much got mentioned of his Dracula performance by the media when he died but for me having read Stoker's book some years previous to 77 then to watch Louis portray the Count was simply amazing, Louis in this performance had charm and intelligence but with a calm calculating menace just like Stoker's creation.

I wholeheartedly agree. He was the essense of intelligence, power, patience, charm and simply oozed sensuality. I just happened on aWhat's My Line? episode he did (on You Tube) and if you haven't already seen it..it's a hoot.

Brita Cashman-Tarrant I had watched it before but watched it again after you reminded me, great personality he was for sure, if you were a male you would want to be him, if you were a female I'd imagine you would want to be with him, I speak as a hetro male, he had it all he really did, a great actor and a charming person, we have lost a real star that's for sure, and the world is now dimmer. Thanks for you're comment's Brita.

Thanks again, dad. I needed the encouragement again. In fact, I'm gonna' come back and watch this again every spring until they either take it down or I'm not married anymore. We're just entering our thirty-fifth year. The twilight era. thanks again.

I was a movie extra. I worked with Louis Jourdan in 1979 on an episode of VEGA$, the TV show. Louis Jourdan had the youngest looking face on a mature man I have ever seen. I don't think it was surgery, just great health.

Thank you so much for posting this - I've had to see it in "Homages within an Autobiography." Louis Jourdan has always been erudite, dashing and interesting to watch. In Roger Moore's commnentary on Octopussy, he says Louis is "a very handsome man" and shares that he is a gourmand and loves herring! At any rate, "Love at a Thousandth Sight" is one of the most beautiful and steadfast things I've ever heard on the subject and it is fitting that Louis Jourdan is the man to say it. Thanks again!

I know this guy as Kamal Khan, which is probarly one of the most classy bond villains ever. He reminds me of him kinda, because of the way he talks is the same as in Octopussy.

@caggles1 - It's funny you should say that! Back in the 1970s, I remember Louis Jourdan being on Mike Douglas (or was it Merv Griffin? I was young and it's all a blur now). The host had Louis read names out of the French phone book while the audience 'ooooohed' and 'awaaaaahed'. It was hilarious. :-D

It's such a perverse society when they think that fidelity, high morals, being faithful, etc., is strange but rolling around in the mirk and the mire of infidelity, lies, immorality in this society should be good and normal. Good grief.☹

I bet you couldn't find a modern Hollywood marriage that has lasted as long as Louis Jourdan and his wife. I wonder what's their secret.
