Thanks for such a rich inspiring series, as always Ally… what a great story-from rags to riches!! I just love this content! Best IMHO on Utube! *But I’m a big history buff! Fun fact, I’ve just never cared about buying super ‘rich’ hand bags! 😂 Give me a Bagallini and I’m happy! PS: your makeup looks so fresh and springy!

Like all of your beauty history recordings, this was a pleasure to listen to Alli. What a rags to riches story! Agreed patriarchy sucks. I have two LV bags, a Pochette Métis in black monogram Empreinte leather and a Croisette in LV monogram. How I’d love to have one of those stunning trunks in Damier or LV monogram. 👌 After I listened to this last night, I played the beauty history playlist yet again, you should be very proud of your accomplishments, the series is informative and worthy. Thanks so much Alli. 😀👍🏾Deb

The idea of a 1870s fake Louis Vuitton bag is so funny to me in a way, truly a curse from the beginning. The monogram design certainly didn't help in the end.

As always, your research is very much appreciated! I could read Wikipedia, but it doesn't stuck as well, as someone narrating it with a very pleasant serving : ) Unpopular opinion: I never liked the LV pattern :D If I win the lottery and happen to want to purchase something from them, those things will be plain! Whenever it comes to counterfeit leather goods, my heart breaks thinking about the amount of faux leather caused pollution. I strongly hope I live through the day, when producing such materials will become illegal, worldwide.
@AllisonChase2 жыл бұрын
I hope so too! How interesting that they were basically "cursed" with counterfeits from the very beginning.

Allison, I love these luxury history pieces. I think it really adds to the value and understanding of why they are what they are, to this day. It’s upsetting to always here about the possible nazi collaboration. I always wonder, if these brands really knew what was happening to the Jewish people? It’s scary to think about. Im also amazed that it wasn’t until 2018 that they had there first black creator! It just shows how long it takes for things to really change. I actually didn’t get interested in LV until late 2020. It was always the most boring brand to me, until I saw the spring collection, and it peaked my interest!! I haven’t jumped on any purses yet, since I can’t settle on what design I really like. I do have several wallets, the 6 ring key holder, and the latest Kirigami set💕 The idea that these bags should last you “all your life,” was very appealing to me. As well as having a little bit of art with you wherever you go🤗
@AllisonChase2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Yes it does get upsetting knowing how many luxury brands collaborated. Every time I do research I'm like please don't do it! 😂 It's hard to know how much they knew at the time but then again there were plenty of people in Europe who were resisting the Nazi occupation instead of helping them out. I agree that luxury brands have ebbs and flows, thank goodness because it helps out our wallets!!

Allison, another great history video! Love LV so very interesting hearing about his childhood and how the company began. “Always going to the son-in-law after owners death” I love when you comment on that. I’m thinking the same thing 😆. And counterfeiting from the beginning so sad. I look forward to your next history video!! 😊❤️

Isn’t it wild? LV has been cursed with counterfeits from the very beginning.
