Louisiana Becomes First State to Mandate Display of 10 Commandments in Schools

Louisiana has become the first state to require the Ten Commandments to be displayed in every public school classroom.
Republican Governor Jeff Landry signed HB71 into law on Wednesday after it passed in the Louisiana Senate in a 30-8 vote and then passed in the state House by a 79-16 vote last month.
The American Civil Liberties Union vows to challenge the law, and the case could go to the U.S. Supreme Court.
If the law survives legal challenges, every Louisiana classroom from kindergarten to the university level, which receives state funding, will be required to display the commandments "on a poster or framed document that is at least eleven inches by fourteen inches." The commandments displays would be paid for by private donations so the state isn't funding them.

Are you aware that the laws of this country are based on the commandments of the Bible? Even down to the 7 year record keeping of debts. After seven years most debts fall off your credit report.. there are some exceptions.. but that rule was put into place by the government based on Biblical scripture. Per the scriptures debts were to be forgiven after seven years.❤️

⁠​​⁠ Why force the 10 commandments but not the bill of rights nor Declaration of Independence? This not even mentioning the fact Louisiana ranks 47th in nation for education. 1st commandment obviously violates the establishment clause cause it requires worship to a single deity that is the Hebrew warrior god. As a Hindu, I definitely think this law is unconstitutional because it explicitly requires religious instruction. Also historians agree, 10 commandments origin lies in the Egyptian 42 confessions of Ma’at so the commandments are not even the original source material.

Put it on the walls of some churches too because some don't seem to recall them before they fall into "moral failure" as sexual abuse by pastors and ministers and lay Christians are being uncovered and brought to light in recent years. Please, while we are it, put the Sermon on the Mount on church walls and the Golden Rule. Also, don't forget to put the Greatest Commandment on the church walls too. Plus the story of the Good Samaritan. How is it that we expect sinless behavior from the unbelievers and unsaved, but we excuse, cover up, deny our own sin?
