Hey John, Thank you for posting your video on the advantages of the 3P-QD Quick Hitch Adapter. I especially liked your comments at the very end where you said, " Easy, Fast, I like it, I'm leaving it on there". To me, that's the best part of the 3P-QH, it's a permanent fix. I have not taken my 3P-QH off since I put it on 8 months ago. It's awesome - now I use all my implements without hesitation.

All of my implements are old stuff, 30 plus years, except a new auger...14" double bottom plow, 5' adjustable blade, 4 row disc cultivator, 5' bush hog...Only the bush hog mount had to be modified, 15 minute job with a cutoff wheel on a 4" grinder to gain a bit of access to top pin. Love my HF quick hitch, been working great for the past year at very little money.

@@LouisianaTractorworks Just wanted to mention that I had a problem with pin spacing on one of my implements, about a 1/2" more clearance needed on the QH...So I did it like we always do here in Missouri and smacked each side rail of the QH with a sledge hammer to move it out just a bit...That did the trick and didn't seem to effect the QH performance.

Hi John! That’s a very clever solution to one of the biggest limitations of a Quick Hitch. At least with that gadget it’s almost as fast as hooking up with the Pat’s Easy Change System. LOL! That’s why I went with Pat’s. It’s compatible with all implements instead of requiring implements to be QH compatible. Still for QH folks, that’s a cool solution for helping a QH connect to an old implement. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing!

Love the quick connect, a problem I had with mine , depending on the length of the 3rd link , I had an instance of it hitting the tractor and cracking the plastic molding around the lights on the tractor. In a shortened position (box blade ) this may happen as it did with me.

That should work really well. It hooks up well anyway. I have an older Southeast brand brush cutter. The top link is actually a 5/16 chain. That works really well here in the hills. It doesn't mate up to the quick hitch because of the width of the pin spacing. I drop the quick hitch off and hook it directly to the 3 point. I have gone to grabbing one of the other loader tractors when I hook it up. When it is suspended in the air with the weight off the ground, I can push it around with one hand to any place I need it to be. Doesn't help for hooking up the pro shaft though.
@LouisianaTractorworks
@LouisianaTractorworks 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Gary! Yeah I've used soft top links on some of that older equipment to have that free travel on the top link. Some of the equipment that's to wide for a QH you can sometimes flip the pins to the inside and it will work. Have a good week! See ya in the next one!

John--does it work with a Woods 660 Finish mower--some quick hitch reviewers say they are not compatible with finish mowers??
@LouisianaTractorworks
@LouisianaTractorworks Жыл бұрын
Thank you Deacon Waters for watching and the comment! If it's a problem with the hook of the Quick hitch on that mower then this will help to fit. If it's because the mower frame is to wide for a Q.H. then you can move one or both pins to the inside of the frame and that will make them closer together for the Q.H. and you will want to get the cat. 3 bushing that go over the pins. Changing them from cat 1 to cat 3 size pins so it will fit better in the Q.H. Have a good week! See ya in the next one!

A couple of observations: 1. This Quick Hitch Adapter looks like a good fit for that particular brush hog, but now you have to remove it the next time you want to use a rake, box blade, ballast box, etc. This adapter doesn't seem to solve the problem of making the quick hitch compatible with every implement. It seems to make it specific to this brush hog and Incompatible with every other implement. 2. Thank you for making the video to try to educate and inform the public, but PLEASE lose the obnoxious music. This is not a music video, please don't try to make it one!
