Retired 75, One thing I like AG tires. AG tires do not pick up as much mud. You might say they clean better, but that's not it. R4 tires just pick up a lot of mud. It looks like cow pies everywhere. Another thing I like tip/tilt three point with a quick hitch. Making adjustments while your working, lets say a box scraper, is invaluable. Compared to stopping tractor getting off, making a guess at what may work when tool was in motion. EDIT: Having 851 lb. HR2572 delivered after buying rental Kubota 119 hrs on L4701 with Land Pride HQ15 on Tuesday Jan 21, 2020. Great video as usual.

A hydraulic top link would be nice for a box blade for sure. Not worth the ridiculous cost though. I can get off the tractor and turn the top link a lot cheaper.
@stephengmeiner32644 жыл бұрын
I totally agree! I have a backhoe for my L3301 so I don’t have a top link holder. The QH holds all three points together. And I do use the top hook for a chain holder. Also, I don’t have concrete or any flat level surface to work from while hooking up attachments so trying to attach to each individual arm separately is very difficult. I love my quick hitch!
@wildbill23c3 жыл бұрын
Even with the quick hitch, you still have to be somewhat level and straight with the attachment/implement, or you'll end up with what I had a few days ago. A box blade hooked to the quick hitch just fine on one side, the other side wasn't engaged in the hook...talk about a PITA to get the box blade off to get it to line up properly...even that quick hitch really isn't all that quick in some cases if you don't get things lined up exactly right. The other thing is if you are hooking up to a PTO implement, you'll need to be sure your PTO shaft is long enough, the one for my roto-tiller isn't, so the quick hitch is 100% useless to me since I have to remove it to use the roto-tiller...and a replacement PTO shaft costs more than the quick hitch....so the quick hitch is going back to the dealer.

I may end up getting a quick hitch setup, maybe in a year or two. On the other hand I'd take out a loan tomorrow, if I had to, to buy some sort of quick hitch for the PTO shaft. I can change implements in at most five minutes - adjustable link arms are a Godsend - but the PTO shafts are another 20-30 minutes of pain and blue language. :-)
@crpth13 жыл бұрын
It won't solve the issue per se. But it will facilitate the entire procedure a LOT! Make sure to maintain ALL the PTO elements CLEAN and lubed. Preferably with silicone grease/spray! This has the advantage that the mud/dust don't stick to it! Precisely the opposite of the traditional greases, that seem to act like magnets for, pretty much, everything! Not having to deal with "blobs" of dirt and debris, I assure you is Godsend in tractor activities! LOL 😂 Anyway when kept clean and lubed everything works smoothly! Cheers Side note: I know that pain! When I got my used tractor I couldn't release the PTO. Because in all honesty I couldn't see/find the pin!! It was buried under "tons" of dirt and debris all cooked with pre-historical grease... Not fun at all!
@wildbill23c3 жыл бұрын
As I found out with my quick hitch, it made the PTO shaft too short for my roto-tiller once the quick hitch was installed....so the quick hitch is useless to me. A replacement PTO shaft costs more than the quick hitch so I'm taking the quick hitch back to the dealership this afternoon....complete waste of money and really doesn't help you much either if you aren't exactly lined up to the implement, if one of those hooks misses and you have the latches closed so it just snaps over the pins when you raise the 3 point, you are in trouble if one of those pins doesn't engage the quick hitch latch mechanism, it tweaks the implement to the side making it quite fun trying to get it back off the quick hitch on the side that actually latched...be prepared for some very heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, and tugging to get the implement back off the quick hitch once that happens...just had it happen with my box blade a couple days ago, thought I was never going to get it off the quick hitch. I have a box blade and a roto-tiller, its just as easy to pull the pins on the 3 point than it is to mess with that quick hitch, and since the PTO shaft on the tiller is too short to use the quick hitch its totally pointless for me.

The system on my Father's old AC D14 always seemed so much easier. You had a single point hitch under the tractor that would lock on to the tongue of the implement. Just back up and it would lock in place. The lift arms had jaws that would open and allow you to connect the chain lifts from the implement and lock them shut. As long as you could back up on the tongue, alignment wasn't an issue. Also, no top link to bend.

I see his top hitch arm is bent just as mine quickly was when I first bought the same model tractor. It's a bit of a tractor design flaw that makes it easy to do. If the roll bar is lowered to it's lowest position at the hinge, it sits low enough to obstruct the path of the top hitch arm. If you raise the implement to it's highest position while the roll bar is in the down position, it will bend the hitch arm just like his is bent. It was a mistake I made in my first week with my tractor, could no longer adjust the length, and immediately had to replace it. Now I never lower my roll bar below the horizontal position to avoid this problem.

The system attaches the hydraulics and pto as well, but the pto is module which can be ordered separately or with that system, and you can either use hand leavers or double acting hydraulics. And I'm sure that the pto needs to be shortened for it's module

@wildbill23c3 жыл бұрын
@@MessicksEquip They typically will be too short after adding the quick hitch as I found out with mine...so the quick hitch is going back to the dealer because its 100% useless to me because the roto-tiller's PTO shaft is too short with the quick hitch installed, makes absolutely no sense having a quick hitch for a box blade and roto-tiller when one implement can't be used with it. @@wildbill23c If I recall, there are pto shaft extensions to fix that problem...
@wildbill23c2 жыл бұрын
@@rossgee1091 There are, but you gotta be careful, learned the hard way today those things need to be bolted through whatever shaft you connect them to, no if's and's or but's. The input shaft stub on my roto-tiller doesn't have a hole through it for a bolt, its getting one drilled through it tomorrow. Set screws or anything of that nature will NOT keep the extension secure. Had the PTO shaft come off today twice while tilling....not good at all. Luckily all the damage was to the plastic PTO U-Joint cover and can easily be replaced. I think they make them in 2-6" extension lengths. I have the 2" extension which extends the PTO shaft enough for my needs, but like mentioned above they need to be bolted on, not just set screws like I did. Those things vibrate loose during operation. A through-bolt is a must.

Unless you buy green, you really can use any other quick hitch as they're pretty much cross compatible....The Harbor Freight quick hitch and the JD stuff is hit and miss, mostly miss. Even the regular universal quick hitch stuff is hit and miss sometimes not all manufacturers have tape measures apparently and can't put the 3 point pin locations in the same spot. My dealer claimed the box blade I got was quick hitch compatible...it wasn't....it is now though, but unlike what they claimed it wasn't setup for a quick hitch, and had some nonsense bolt in the way of where the top hook was supposed to go when hooking up to the quick hitch....a couple of quick cuts with my grinder and problem solved.
