Nice job Mike! These quick hitches are a life savor! I found converting my attachments to fit the standard hitch setup worked the best for me, as I do not need to ever adjust the hitch itself. All attachments fit. (Not to mention i welded my pins in for that reason) Thanks for sharing this. Full watch and liked! Have a good week!

How's she goin'? Thanks for dropping by the channel Tyler!!! Great to have you on board!! Some of my attachments were 'older' ones and weren't really set up for a Quick Hitch, but it turns out they aren't that hard to modify. My only issue was with the box blade and I need to adjust the top link hook. But I think I can modify the box blade so I won't even have to do that!!! Thanks again for watching and take care!!
@laughton57 Жыл бұрын
Nice job. I recently got a box blade for my compact tractor. I had a tough time getting the implement to fit my quick hitch. I watched your video and understood the process better. My BB is made by the same outfit as yours. But there is a difference. The bottom hole, where the 4 arms are bolted around the spacer (for the hock to pick up the blade with), is smaller than the top hole. So changing to use the top hole will be difficult. The holes in the arms are 5/8 - matching the bottom hole of forward arms. The top hole, of the forward arms is 3/4. So if I use the top hole the bolt will be loose in the top forward arm holes. I would have to ream out the bottom hole - not an easy job. I think I'll continue to use the bottom hole for joining all four arms. If I find I'm having trouble, I'll ream or drill the back arm holes out. Note - my BB came with a bolt for the lower mounting hole (5/8") and a pin for the top hole (3/4"). I'm not sure how I would use a pit at the top to 'gather' the four arms together. It seems to me there would be a lot of slack on that pin - causing extreme wear on stuff. The top pin must be for a different model of quick hitch. than I have.

How's she goin'? The Quick Hitch is pretty nice but it should be called a 'faster way to hook up' because for a lot of older implements it sure isn't quick eh!! Your description of the issue you are having was good. I'm sorry I have nothing to offer to help though. I agree with you that a loose fit to hold the 4 arms together is only asking for premature wear and that wouldn't be good. Just a thought about reaming the holes, if you took the arms off and took them to a machine shop or garage, maybe they could ream them for you pretty quick. Thanks a lot for watching my video. I sure appreciate it and I enjoyed your comment. I hope we can hook up again sometime. Take 'er easy!!

Hey there Dave!!! Yes it worked out pretty good. The only real issue I have is the mount on the box blade is now tipped toward the back of the box. Makes it a bit tricky to hook up and lessens adjustments that may need to be made for various jobs. I think a solution to this would be to drill 2 new holes on the braces that go from the box beam to the back of the box blade that the braces attach too. This way I can move the braces forward more and make the mount stand up straighter. I hope you can understand my explanation!!! LOL Thanks a lot for watching Dave and take care!!
@daveknowshow4 жыл бұрын
@@GrampiesWorkshop that is sounds like the issue I was thinking of. perhaps add a piece of steel on each side where the braces attach at the box. maybe 3 inches long with two holes located at 1 inch from each end or what ever is needed. then attach the braces to the top hole of that 3 inch piece and the bottom hole attached to the box? that may be clear as mud for an explanation. I'm sure you will come up with a solution you got mad skillz brother!!! enjoyed the video as always.

Even though you have to move the top link on the quick hitch, it's way easier than matching the pins into the lower arm without a quick hitch! Thanks Mike!
@GrampiesWorkshop4 жыл бұрын
Salut Joe!!! Right on. Adjusting the top hook is easily done. One thing I have noticed though, by moving the brace arms on the box blade to the top hole on the mounting plate, the mount is now tipped towards the back of the box blade. This reduces the adjustments I can make and also makes it a bit tricky to hook up. So I was thinking I would make 2 new holes on the cross pieces that the braces bolt to at the back of the box. That way the mount would come back to being more vertical. If you can understand all that then you must be an engineer!! LOL Thanks for tuning in Joe and take care!

Hey Mike I’m thinking of getting the same Quick hitch from Princess Auto. Are you still happy with it? Also, I have a GC2310 and I heard you mention about changing the rear tail lights to LED. I’m wondering if you could tell me which ones you used please?
@GrampiesWorkshop3 жыл бұрын
How's she goin'? The Quick Hitch is doing great!!! Some of my implements weren't compatible with it, but that wasn't the quick hitch's fault. The attachments were older versions. It was pretty easy to get them to work though. The LED tail lights are nice for sure too. The one thing you need to watch for is to get LED lights that can be operated by the flasher. Because the LEDS take so little current they don't heat up the flasher element and sometimes they won't flash. Here is a link to the lights I got: www.amazon.ca/Replacement-Camper-Signal-Lights-Backup/dp/B095VN61S1/ref=sr_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=1141+LED+Lights&qid=1626906998&sr=8-16 It's a long one but these lights are 'bright white' and can be used in flasher circuits. I also replaced the headlights with LEDs as well as the 4-way flashers and that made a big difference. A lot less current draw on the alternator. This was handy for me since when I plow in winter it's usually in the dark and the work lights I have, even though they are LED as well, was a pretty good raw and sometimes I wasn't making enough voltage to charge the battery!!! LOL Thanks a bunch for the comment and I hope this info will help you out!!! Thanks for watching and I hope to see you back again!!!
