Got into writing and designing my own website, and very soon I shall be coming up with a new book too. One more thing however i`d like to add to what you said, is that we must bring out happiness within ourselves, and that will draw people to us. I choose to have no friends. Sometimes it gets really lonely, but other times it feels good. It's better to not feel mentally drained at the end of the day by "trying" to hang out with people and hear negative, gossip, lies. It's difficult to find people who want to relax, care, and be genuine in life.
@CompilationExtraordinaire8 жыл бұрын
Honestly just stop giving a Fuck about peoples opinions. When I started doing that I worked out alot more went on two dates, read through the batman comic series just enjoyed life... starting giving a fuck again, and everything sucked again. it might be hard but just try to realize when your over caring about others opinions and slap yourself or whatever you need to do to get back on track. when you dwell on things like opinions, or try to align your opinions with others just to fit in. people consider you weak and therefore do not want to deal with you. your goal as a person should be to improve yourself in anyway possible and act indifferent socially. Honestly just try this and people will impact you emotionally alot less, and you can truely be happy. also meditation is super helpful!

Obviously we don’t have nothing in common so I learned the hard way....Don’t be in wrong crowd, be you, do what you love and one day, you’ll find the right people who are truly supportive!❤️P.S, thanks for sharing this video!😊 very helpful!

When I was 23 my best friend was murdered. He met a woman in a nightclub and after a period of time; they kissed one another. Her brother seen this and along with four of his "friends"; jumped, kicked and jumped all over my friend's head. My friends parents had to turn off the life support machine. He was buried on his 26 birthday; which fell on Mothers Day. He had 5 A-Levels and 10 GCSE A stars. A gentle soul with the looks of a young Keanu Reeves. He had the world at his feet. I locked myself away from the world for years. Smoking weed everyday and drinking far too much as well; trying to mask the pain. Some of my other friends I had tried to encourage me out, and albeit they certainly tried their best to get me out the house, they eventually moved on and I don't begrudge them. Life is short. What hurt me was the amount of faith I had bestowed upon them. To me a friend is someone I will love unconditionally to the end. I'll be there if it turns ugly and stay. I was taught to look for personality traits to help me define a character. If I saw you stealing from someone you know, then I knew I couldn't trust you. Talking about your other friends behind their backs, etc, etc. My point is this: if we make mistakes in judgement and let people into our life that will end up hurting us- that's our fault. Don't put too much into people all at once either. My definition of a true friend is unconditional love. This takes time to achieve. In many ways having friends is very much like being in a relationship. It takes time. You don't just jump in head first. Test people's character before you give them your heart. But don't let anyone hit you off with words that are reflective telling you that you don't need to have friends. You are the average of your five closest friends. Surround yourself with good people. Love and grow.

@LouisRaskin9 жыл бұрын
Jane-y G Get rid of facebook. It's a time-waster and energy drainer. Instead focus your time and energy on something you enjoy or are good at and practice doing that, a lot, every day. You can seek out groups that are involved in what you're doing to still remain social, but it's not the end of the world if you don't. Ask yourself the question "If I do this everyday for the next ten years, will it lead me to success or will it do nothing?" This requires an active mindset. Facebook and a lot of other popular things are all passive sources of entertainment that stimulate us in short bursts and distract from creating things. When you're working on achieving a goal that is also an obsession you no longer care about what other's think. You have a mission that you need to work on. What's your mission?

Some people are in your life for a reason and some for a season. I had a group of "close" friends, I used to hang around in my early 20s.Some I've known since childhood. I developed a chronic illness around 25 and those people who I thought would stick by me, like I did for them, are now all gone. Our decade long friendship long forgotten. My advice is find contentment within and achieve goals you set for yourself, rather than trying to live up to the societal belief that everyone most be an extroverted social butterfly. You would be lucky to find at most one or two people who you can count on in this life.

I am mostly in solitude and I notice my success (career and academic) grows. I went to an MBA meeting and realised how far I have become and confident with my inner self and strengths with whichever choices I make. I find that a lot of women (not all) become jealous and are intimidated by successful, strong women. They become unnecessarily harsh by gossiping instead of being supportive (of course, this is a wide generalisation and there are exceptions). My role models include Ivanka Trump, beautiful, independent and successful. And thank you for your excellent advice on books and other things - it reinforces my focus. I am different, I like to think creatively and outside the box, and happily converse and collaborative with others.

This advice is good. When I was a teenager I had no friends but I didn't know that at the time. I drew and my art was sold ... I struggled with friends over the years because they never asked me how I was but condemned me for focusing on my children. Now I am older I actually have just booted false friends. I am soooo comfortable with me... I have induced a lot of changes. No one wants to know me but I use that to develop even more insight like a fly on the wall. I don't miss the people who said they were friends. I enjoy the time alone and always think of any person who comes into my life for what they are... they want help or low level companionship ... people are not genuine... they want something and if you can't give them the low level companionship they can't cope. Better to have no friends than a false friend

As of today I am closing out all my friends, family and society permanently. I already feel at peace just in the knowledge that I can do whatever I want however, and whenever I feel like it. There are only 3 people I will keep in my life, my partner and 2 children. I will never have to deal with drama and crap ever again. True freedom starts in the mind. No more society for me.

@@TheCuratorIsHere Friendship is a fictional concept invented by people pretending that "love and acceptance" and a "balance of good and evil" exists, when in reality it doesnt. People are only friends with eachother out of necessity, not love. Just look at animals. I see in the comments that some need a friend because they're depressed. If you were to get a friend, would you be a good friend? I feel people forget friendship is a two way street (Not surprising bc when you're depressed, you tend to become very self-involved). If having a friend would help your depression, what would happen if your alone? If you don't have that friend? You start becoming a leech on this person, overly dependent on them to achieve your own happiness (at times the price of their own) because you're unable to be happy by yourself.

I'm going to do the things you had mentioned on here like reading and focusing on my talents even more. Thanks again for your advice. U pushed me more to really try harder and focus even more on me and my health. I just had a surgery three months ago and I had been taking care of myself with no help. I broke up with my boyfriend the week of my surgery. He didn't do shit. No one had asked how I'm doing or even reached out. It's like I never had a surgery. When u r really at ur lowest point, that's when u know who ur real friends and family are. So I'm doing like u said, research on getting my health back and I'm doing me😉. I prefer to have the freedom to choose between being with people and bring by myself rather than being forced to be by myself. it isn't good to have no friends, but it is good to make the most out of whatever new free time you got out of it.

One book I'd really love to recommend is "The Like Switch" by Jack Schafer. It delves into communicating and socializing with people. Here's one thing I learned from the book that changed my interactions with people forever. People love talking about themselves. Instead of talking about yourself get to know the other person by asking questions such as their music interests, hobbies etc.
