Hei Louis. Did you get a "thicker, fuller, deeper" sound with a bigger speaker? Wider range frequencies? Thanks.
@louistorres Жыл бұрын
Definitely more lower end frequencies bc of the larger size, when comparing it to its smaller brother, the FR108. It also holds up well at louder levels without any brittle signal.

It's loud-esque. Lol. I'm sure in a laboratory, it's 2000w. In my personal opinion, since I use it weekly, I'd say it's a good 150 watts, when comparing it to my Mesa 412 cabinet.

I don't play the same tones you're demo'ing here (which sound amazing by the way) but in my opinion for cleans, the Yamaha portables + powered speaker will blow the Katanas out of the water. I played with an Artist (gen 1) for over a year, struggling to get something that sounded good at home that was easily modifiable to be good for the stage. Was in the studio this past weekend with multiple amps to try and ended up recording almost everything with the little THR30's line outs and it sounded incredible on the rough mix. Even the engineer was impressed. This got me researching how to possibly use the THR30 as my only amp, even for live / stage use. Of course --- just send the line outs to a powered speaker and my THR30 becomes a THR1000 (lol) or whatever wattage I want. I can't believe in everything I had read online about the THR portables up to this point, I had never seen anybody talk about how great they are into a powered speaker.

This is awesome. I’m still waiting on my THR 30 ii. I have the headrush gigboard with the 112 frfr speaker. I like my headrush but feel like I get option paralysis. Two many amps and effects I feel like it’s hard to make a good tone versus something with a few delays and reverbs with one knob adjustments. Maybe one day I will use my gigboard more but for now I don’t think it’s convenient for bedroom practice so I’m pumped to get the THR. Can’t wait to plug it in to the frfr speaker. I also read online that the new THR will allow 3rd party Bluetooth Footswitches which I already have the blue board so once it shows up I will see if it will work. On the thr app it has the option to assign different effects and presets to different foot switch buttons so will will see. I’ll let you know if I can get it to work. Sorry for the rambling. Love your channel 🤘

Omg, I totally agree with you with all the options but that's sort of the fun part, I think. I have my set tones and the rest is playing around! I can't wait until you get your THR, it's amazing! And mine is the older model! I guess yours has two outputs for powered cabinets.

Hey Wstn, I was curious how the THR30 and Headrush 112 worked out? I just tried a basic 8 inch monitor with my THR and it sounds great. I'm really encouraged and excited to try a bigger speaker, and have a good local opportunity on a used Headrush 112. Any thoughts? Like do you wish you had a 108?

@louistorres4 жыл бұрын
Yes sir, you can use the Headrush FRFR112 as an alternative to dual monitors BUT don't forget that it's just one speaker. With that, you won't hear the left pan/ right pan recordings as well bc it's coming out of just one cabinet. You can always try to find two used ones or buy two new FRFR112s but just know the Yamaha HS8 monitors are ridiculously loud and with two, you'll hear the two tracks much easier. Now, if you're thinking LIVE, then that's another story! You should then consider getting an FRFR 412 cabinet that companies like Mission make, for about $650. You should always consider two speakers you can place to the left and right, so you hear the combined tones simultaneously. Although I have my Headrush 112, when I record tracks, I always use my two Yamaha HS5 monitors. :) Hope that helps, Matt!! :)

I herd the hype for the thr10x is REAL. So good that I wish I could jam with it. It would be perfect to use it as a head and some type of speaker with power thats not necessarily a guitar amp. A PA system! My katana 100 could hang drums im sure, but in case I was in situation where I needed more I could get a badass PA and plug into that. Is thst particular headrush a PA?

Hi! Wow, sounds killler!! so amazing option! Another Ideas could be: 1) To use a Mixer between the THR10X and the Power monitor to mix an external effect like a Eventide H9 or something like that, just to add the loop External FX option in the THR10X. 2) Some guy told me that another option is connect the THR10X out headphones to the return loop of a guitar amplifier. My main reason to do it is because before I was using an Axe FX 2 with the H9 as external FX but I sold my Fractal FX 2. I really think the THR10X sounds much better than the Axe fx 2 to sound like VH brown sound. Be able to add whatever external in to the THR10X could be amazing for less money. (I didn´t do the tests yet because I don't have the mixer or amp, just the Eventide H9 & the THR10X) Regards!! and thanks for sharing

The Headrush is neutral and doesn't change the tone of the Yamaha at all. It's pretty shocking and one of my buddies has a Headrush pedalboard and runs out to two HR FRFR112 cabinets and loves them. Go to Guitar Center and try one. They're usually available at most GCs
