Loulou's first tick. It was easy to see but not such a nice idea. We check every day now. We're still having a great time here. It is very hot so we walk from pool to river and back. 38°C / 100.40°F. Tomorrow there will be a heat wave of above 40°C / 104°F. xxx Eveline
@erzsebetkovacs2527 Жыл бұрын
Please don't worry too much about it. One can get a tick only if they were walking in high grass or bushes, without physical protection such as long trousers tucked in socks. You can also get a protective collar for dogs. But even then, if you check every day and remove it as soon as possible, it shouldn't be a problem. Enjoy your trip :)

Ticks are everywhere in my East Coast US home. My doggies had their monthly medicine put on them and they never had a problem with them. The ticks would bite and then immediately fall off. Now my boys had them a lot since we lived in the woods and my one boy got Lyme Disease..not good. I love that little waterfall and the merman that swims around with his sandals on. 😅. Keep on having fun!❤

It’s such a beautiful place. I would never want to leave. Loulou and Coco love the walks most of all I think. They already know the trail. Unfortunately for my dogs ticks are a regular occurrence. We live in the middle of woods on 23 acres. Right around the house it is cleared with some trees but beyond that it is thick brush with trees and such. We put flea and tick prevention on them so that helps otherwise we are removing ticks every other day. The humans also get ticks. My son had been working outside by our shed and he came inside and felt something on his neck and it was a tick. He hates bugs of any kind so it kind of freaked him out. Fred is funny with his beers. He needs to keep a journal and write down which ones he likes and dislikes and the characteristics of each one. Then y’all might be able to pick them better. I don’t drink at all so I probably don’t know what I’m talking about. Lol Enjoy which it looks like y’all are.

Hi, Eveline! i recently purchased something in the US called *bug bite thing* that I just used a few hours ago on a tick bite on my Longhaired Dachshund. the tick was not deeply embedded yet, but was *in*. after I backed the tick out with needle nosed tweezers, i used the suction on the bugbite thing to hopefully assist in removing any fluid that may have been injected. Not 100% posiyive it worked, but it did seem to pick up...something... ! There may be a product similar that the EU has, but ours is indeed called *Bug Bite Thing*. Kisses to CoCo!

I don't normally leave comments, but I'd like to give you an advise, Eveline. I’d say that the best way to eliminate ticks is by using a piece of cotton soaked in alcohol. That way the tick will come off on its own. I’ve done it already many times with my own dogs. Don't ever pull it off, for their legs can stay inside the skin and release a toxin as you pull it. I’ve also learned that ticks tend to be closer to the dog’s eyes and ears. I hope you won't need this advice, but if needed, I hope it helps… Anyway, I love your videos! I'm specially enjoying to hear you speak more and more in it, since I've just started learning Nederlands (I've been dabbling in it for quite some time now haha 🇳🇱🥰🌷🧡). Wishing you all the best. Ticks breathe through their butts so covering them in vasoline forces them to release their bite to stay alive. It's a great way to remove them whole without squeezing potential disease into your dogs bloodstream.👍

Unfortunately the old remedies and wives tales are totally wrong. We just didn’t have any information to do better. Those treatments actually cause the tick to inject lots and lots of their Lyme causing saliva into the host. What Fred did is the correct method of removal.

Arrrgh! I despise ticks! It was my job as a teenager to remove them from our dacshie in upstate new york. E you likely know but those critters go anywhere: nose, ear, under tail, etc. i used to find them mostly around folds of neck near the collar, on the fleshy part above the dachsie’s shoulders and behind their ears. I always burned the ticks after removed. Ticks are tough. Dont forget to check yourselves! Lyme disease is nasty business. If anyone feels like they got the flu or you see the bullseye rash go straight to a doctor. Clothes go straight in the dryer after coming in from outside. Long pants in tall grass. Ticks wont drown from a washing machine but the dryer on high will kill them. I hate ticks!
