There's a great interview with the bassist for Walk on the Wild Side. He just shows up, records the bass line in like 15 minutes and is done. He suggests doing a second bass part, and they shrug and say OK, and he records that too and leaves. That simple! Still: remember in the Velvet Underground they didn't even HAVE a bass on a lot of the numbers!

I met Lou in an alley once; beside the stage door an old theatre in Dublin one lunchtime. Ecstasy tour just me n him I asked him to sign my newspaper and he does it on the accident insurance advert spot on the back! Steps back inside and fetches me two VIP tickets 😎 all the while the dude never said a word!

For me, it gets better if it included the intro. I only saw Lou once in 1974 after appreciating Rock n Roll Animal as a 14 year old. They started with Intro/ Sweet Jane and it was identical to the album. AMAZING. would love to see a version of Intro Sweet Jane on You Tube of this calibre, but cant find it. I saw the Paris 74 version of Sweet Jane, but the heavy domination of Keyboards destroyed the song
