Thank you very much Mila Konomos for having shared your story and put across the view that many Korean Adult Adoptees (KADs) can relate to. We have recently conducted an Adoptee Legacy project to empower adoptees, to record their stories, the lessons learned and most of all resilience techniques to overcome obstacles. We hope that by sharing those stories, we can start healing collectively.

Her explanation about how strangers call us "lucky" is spot on. Does an oak tree feel lucky for being uprooted without consent?????? Would an adult feel "lucky" for being blindly uprooted without their consent???? Ask the millions of Ukrainians. Ask the millions of Koreans who were separated from their families due to the diaspora and due to the many wars. Are they "lucky" to be ripped apart from their homeland and their family??? How idiotic of people to say babies are "lucky" to be ripped apart from their loved ones just because they got the material comforts.
