1st layer(bottom of 9 by 12 baking dish) : whipped cream cheese(16 ounce or more*) , 2nd (1 lb) browned burger with taco packaged seasoning, 3rd, salsa (16oz or more) , 4th black olives( 1 large can) , 5th, cheese(Mexican) 2 cups on top... Bake @ 350 15 - 20 mins & ready to dig in... Tostiti dip chips are the best... Sour cream, guacamole & refried beans on the side (some people are not bean people) * more to YOUR liking. Yuuuum. 20 years making this & grandchildren ask for this @ their birthday parties. ❤️🙏❤️💗

Looks so delicious, Miss Paula!!! The girls I worked with used to bring in a similar layered dip, and they put refried beans on the bottom, along with sliced green onions, a few sliced jalapeños, and a lot of salsa. It was so good. Thanks for your tip on buying the seasoning packet, which I will try. God bless, and have a great "game day".

what you just described, my dear, is 7-layer dip! I love 7-layer dip! although, salsa is already in paula's 5-layer; but extra salsa can count as a layer, in my book! :3 I'm going to be making this for sure, and may even add that bit extra, too! haven't had a good 5-to-7-layer dip in very long time!

One of my favorite dips! I am a vegetarian so i use the vegie crumble instead of hamburger and i will frequently add 2 extra layers in the middle- vegie refried beans and sliced black olives- will definitely make it for the super bowl- go Bengals 😉

@@juliab628 There are frozen vegetarian hamburger substitutes - usually made from soy - my favorite brand is Gardein- its hamburger substitute works really well in things like chili, tacos, chop suey- layered dip 😉 - i even make a "meat" loaf with it- enjoy!

I love using the avocado shell for a spoon rest! Also, if you take a butter knife and cut up the avocado in the skin then scoop out, it’s so much easier!

I never omitted the step to add water in the ground beef when using a spice packet before like this recipe. I will have to give that a try. I always thought it was to dissolve the other ingredients in the package, but it looks great!

May I suggest an easier way to cube your avocado? Just run the knife in horizontal and vertical lines on a half avocado still in the peel (of course with the pit removed), then invert the peel over a bowl and the cubes just fall out into your bowl!

Hey Paula ! Just wanted to say that we ate at your family kitchen in Pigeon Forge and it was so so good ! Pork chops , pot roast, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, green beans, poppyseed salad - yummy! 😋😋😋 Hubby ate his peach cobbler there but I brought my ooey gooey cake back for supper later🤪. Did some shopping too. Had a great fella named Greg serving us. I told his manager I wanted to give him 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ loved the iced tea. My only regret was no to go cup , lol ! Would love to know what tea brand it is . Lowcountry South Carolina fans here . ❤️& best dishes !

Ms Paula, I made this for Christmas snacking n there's a new product on the market I wish I could let a picture of jt. Instead of using chopped avocados, I have heard of Pace Salsa? Now there's avocado salsa made by Pace. Just spread however much u want in place of chopped avacados. It spreads like sour cream, that kind of texture. Ohhh, it's so easy n no lemon juice or Browning to worry about. Check it u have it in ur stores. If u don't let me know n I will send u a jar. It's a multi-tasker!! I can use it on top of enchiladas, fried eggs, sandwich bread before I add deli meats, etc. I know u will love it!!! Thank u for all ur recipes n especially ur quarantine recipes. My husband n I r still quarantined since the pandemic started...March of 2020 I think? It's been a long time but I have enjoyed doing things around the house, getting back to the old way of cooking n had a big garden last year. Have a nice day, u, Eddie n Theresa.

Hi Ms. Paula, I know this is a strange question, but prior to your remodel and a little while after the lockdown, you had a beautiful blue and white printed vase with artificial flowers sitting on the back counter to the right if facing you. Where did you put them? Lol. I’ve been looking for that exact piece for my wife, but it is so to find the vase (or bowl) with those orchids or tulips (I can’t remember what they were.) I thought maybe you’d remember where you purchased it. I know, I’m asking you to remember years ago…my memory is not like it was, so I won’t hold my breath, but thought is was worth asking. My wife has a perfect spot in our entry and I want to surprise her with something similar- she will be impressed I remembered her wanting something just like that. No need for more liquid. There is enough liquid in the meat itself, plus the cooked meat is hot and steamy. That alone will allow the seasoning to absorb throughout the pan.
