Oh my, Paula, growing up in a large family, beef Stroganoff Casserole was one of my favorites to make for dinner. My mother worked so we girls cooked dinner. One by one my older sisters moved out and got married. I was the only girl left living at home. Casseroles of any kind were welcomed at the dinner table when I made them. So good that you bring back memories of the good ole days of cooking for me. I love ya Ms Paula. Shirley Warix, Citrus Heights Ca.

I make stroganoff with ground beef but use beef broth with a flour slurry to thicken, not chicken broth. I don't add any cheese. A great, homemade one pot meal.

The beef broth sounds better. I remember growing up we'd have seasoned hamburger gravy poured on a slice of bread and sometimes a vegetable on the side usually string beans or a boiled potato.

That looks delicious!! So funny that you forgot the ranch dressing. I think we’ve all had some mistakes in the kitchen. I once had just put pumpkin pies in the oven when I realized I’d forgotten to put in the sugar!! I pulled them out of the oven, poured the filling in a bowl, added the sugar and put the pies back in the oven! No worse for the wear. You forgetting the ranch dressing in your recipe made me think of my “almost” pie disaster. 😅😂 If we can’t laugh at ourselves who can we laugh at…

New at making Quiche once I the flou sitting on the counter after I closed the oven door. I also quickly retrieved the pie . Then, right in the shell, I gently stirred the small amount of flour to the egg mixture & returned it to the oven. I was so worried it would throw off the texture if I didn't. Well, it turned go delicious 😋. 😅

One time I totally messed up baking blueberry muffins - I was doubling the recipe but halfway through forgot, and stopped doubling ingredients, so some things were twice as much as the original recipe for and some things weren’t enough... and when they came out of the oven they tasted fabulous but were extremely heavy and dense... I had promised some friends I would share and I was embarrassed to share these, but they insisted... and then proceeded to tell me they were the best blueberry muffins they’d ever had and to make more and do whatever I did wrong, again!!! Of course I couldn’t replicate it since I wasn’t entirely sure where/what I messed up but I was glad to know it turned out ok anyway 🤣
