Do y'all like a thinner biscuit mix or a thicker biscuit mix on top of your pot pies?

Thinner dough. I use a pie crust on top just roll it out put it on top it’s so good!

When you speak of making it for your kids in the past, it conjures memories of how blessed my generation was to find our Mom(s) already at home when the bus dropped us off. Oh, the smells of food already cooking! God bless moms and God bless our youth for their strength, courage, and ingenuity no matter what.

My recipe includes 1 can of cream of chicken, 1 can cream of potato, 1/2 cup milk, bag of frozen veggies, parsley & pepper (no salt since the cream of chicken and cream of potato have so much salt in them already) I also boil three boneless skinless chicken breast and into bite-size pieces and put in mixture then I use the Pillsberry crust that is rolled out another thing I do different is use an 8 inch round cake pan instead of a pie plate I have found that this way the bottom crust gets nice and crispy I pour the mixture into the 8 inch round with the piecrust and then I take the other pie crust and lay it on top and press and and I pinched the sides all the way around to close the two crests together and put holes in the tap brush with egg and cook for 40 minutes and 425 it’s amazing and I’ve never had a complaint

We love pot pie! So glad you showed how to make it this way cause I will make it for my family this way. ❤️ we will take the biscut any way we get it ...but I think the vote ( by one) was a thinner dough.

I just love that teapot on the stove; it’s always so striking when you’re on. I believe I saw one very similar at Nordstrom last week. And just for the record, Mrs. Paula, I have loved watching you since I was a teenager. My grandmother, who passed on December 24 at age 88 after a very long battle with Parkinson’s Disease, used to watch you every day. I am from Manning, SC but have been in DC for the last 15 years and you still bring back the love and memories she and I shared while watching your show. God bless you and your family. All the best for the years to come. ❤️

I have to make everything from scratch as I get migraines from MSG, which unfortunately is in so many foods. I make the homemade milked down baking powder biscuits for the top. Instead of the cream soup filled with MSG I make a gravy out of homemade chicken broth. Delicious homemade pot pie is amazing!! 😊 Thank you Paula... now I have to make pot pies for tomorrow's supper.

I leave crust off bottom.Frozen Pepperidge Farm puff pastry crust on top.No cheese.Chicken breast only.Frozen carrots,peas, baby onions, couple of sliced fresh celery stalks (I love sliced mushrooms too).No soup mix.Use unsweetened almond milk and sprinkling of flour, Sam,pepper to thicken plus thyme.Idea is to load in more veggies, reduce TON of fat! Still delish!

I buy bulk chicken and oven roast it when I get home and shred it then vacuum seal it in portions for the freezer. I also use a lot of dehydrated spices so I can throw a pot pie together in a few minutes with frozen veggies and heavy cream! So wonderful anytime! Comfort food at its best!

Looks so good. Nothing is better than a chicken Pot Pie. I sure KNOW what you mean by letting it cool and not burning your mouth. I did something really SMART...I was cooking bacon and turning it with a fork. STUPID me...knew the fork was of course hot, but I put it in my mouth and burnt the heck out of my lips. They are so sore, well, I always learn the hard way, I will NEVER do that again. LOL I am going to have to try this, I love chicken pot pie.

When you first came on, I thought you had on a hoodie 😃 this recipe looks good. I would leave out the salt and put just a little Better than Bouillon chicken flavor with some water to thin the filling. I would not use buttermilk to the filling. Love your show.
@cbell39222 жыл бұрын
So you would basically just not make this recipe 🤦🏻♀️
@patsyjohnson39632 жыл бұрын
@@cbell3922 Actually I would use 1can cream of chicken soup , no sour cream or buttermilk. For the rest of the filling , I would mix water and Better that Bullion , chicken flavor and some corn starch to thicken . I add mixed vegetables in the can from Walmart with no added potatoes. I use flaky canned biscuits and pull the layers apart for the crust. Just go around placing them over the mixture. Brush melted butter lightly on top and a little salt and pepper over this. I also add a jar of pimento and some sauteed onion to the chicken mixture. Better than bullion is in a jar at your grocery and comes in different flavors. So much better than bouillon cubes. I'm sure there are a dozen chicken pie recipes. No I would not make the one on the show but I'm sure it is delicious. I just don't like the taste of sour cream. It gives food a sour taste to me.
