Tip: leave your pie to rest for 15-30 minutes so it has time to cool down and set a little. That way it won't fall apart when you cut in to it.

Just made and more than enjoyed this Chicken Pie. It reminded me of the kind of chicken pie I have had in those famous pubs in England. The crust is unbelievably flaky and buttery and the filling is succulent. Great balance between filling and crust. Like so many of your recipes, this one is a real keeper!!

Just cooked this pie, it is delicious 😋 The flavour, the homemade pastry. To make a long story short, this pie is delicious, 10 out of 10. I love it. I didn't have dry cider, I used red wine vinegar instead and it was my first time making a pie in my whole life lol 😆 and turned out so good. Thank you Jamie,, always love your recipes ❤

I wouldn’t have thought of simply cutting the chicken in half, browning it (skin side down) and then popping it in to the veggies n stock , cover, cook, until voila, the chicken is cooked and ready to fall off the bone. The pastry looked so easy the way Jamie made it.

Keep cooking and carry on series is epic. It was msde at Jamie's place during the covid lockdown. I remember crying through some of the eps because it was a time we faced food shortages and he helped us feel like we had options. I hope we never have another pandemic etc but what he taught people is so special. I think he already has an Award from the Queen, but he truly is putting the "Great" in Great Britain. A long way from UK but if I were Prince William and Princess Catherine I'd be recruiting Sir Jamie for a massive household food campaign. All the way from babies through to ageing grandparents. Maggie Beer is currently do some if that in Australia. But households under huge stress with inflation. Turning the kitchen and pantry into an area of control is just so important for health. Not to mention the fun of cooking alongside Jamie & Gennaro on Foodtube in winter. Try it. Jamie 👏👏👑

Cloudy cider is old school apple cider, like they used to make in the olden days. It’s usually pretty strong in terms of alcohol content. I don’t know what they sell over in the states, but I’d just look for something good from a small brewery, and avoid anything mass produced with a ton of sugar.
