Keep in mind that this show was semi-scripted, and that the participants were encouraged to be outrageous and controversial. Those dates that were deemed boring never made it to TV. Participants knew this in advance and had an incentive to stand out. Many of the couples who appeared together on stage never saw each other again. LC was great TV, but it was much like the reality TV of today--light on "reality."

Yes, there were a few out of thousands, The show WAS semi-scripted nonetheless. The segments that included boring dates and dull personalities did not make it to TV. And some great first dates did not make it to a second, even if the show paid for it. @@hookasmokincaterpiller
