So many good points! One thing that stands out to me is … How do you get a son like Clay? It’s both parents (his mother and his father) that have created that ... His mother doesn’t get a pass, just like AD’s mom hasn’t been given one. AD being “wiser” and “knowing her worth” (as people are suggesting) is as important as Clay being more empathic and honest, and less superficial. He’s clearly missing something from childhood (unfortunately) that in adulthood he needs to find so that he will no longer hurt people. It’s his responsibility now. We can raise amazing girls but if we don’t raise amazing boys too, things will always be off, wrong.
