As a lawyer myself, I can tell you that Uche was cross-examining Aaliyah once he heard something that he did not like. It’s what trial lawyers do. It was an effort to get her to agree with him at all costs to show her that she cannot beat him in an argument. Then he minimized what he did to put her another level down from himself in his eyes. I’m honestly not interested in any of these couples.
@Kelema86 Жыл бұрын

@dortheacaldwell6780 Жыл бұрын
Yes. To add to this, from an attachment view (as a therapist) his insecurities of trust came up and instead of him being vulnerable he became defensive by judging. Aliyah was being vulnerable and needed reassurance in that moment because she was looking for closeness in her transparency. While it may be frustrating for us to watch cause it comes across as weak (or getting beat up) she is showing up from emotion not logic. I won’t say Uche is as intentionally being manipulative but he stayed in his protective tendency which is interrogate, attack and judge which at the very least shows a deep level of insecurity. It was hard to watch.
@dortheacaldwell6780 Жыл бұрын

@anitaartis9591 Жыл бұрын
An African man demands too much out of a woman... After all, they were the first man. However, in this educated society we have here in the U.S, women go to work AND make decisions also. He wants the woman to be " less than" when he has more flaws than she has.😊😊

I don’t appreciate that! When white men fuck up or show character defects, I don’t see us saying Don’t bring anymore white men on this show, or fuck them all, let’s get clear about the implications of what we’re saying, even with what we are being shown…like you don’t think the politics of representation, and who they select and how they set things up aren’t being manipulated in such a way to have us hating on African men. It’s one thing to say this person is making poor choices or I don’t like his character, another thing to denounce an entire continent of men. Like WTF!?

Uche is a hypocrite. He chastised Aliyah for something she did two years before knowing him but then barely took accountability for lying about dating Lydia. All this after he claimed lying was a deal breaker for him. He then tries to defend Lydia talking about she’s a trustworthy person etc, as if that’s appropriate given his lie. He tops it off by pivoting to talking about an engagement ring. He’s a liar and manipulative. Aliyah dodged a bullet.

This happens in many families, where the oldest child is expected to step in and assume responsibilities on a parental/adult level in the raising of their younger siblings. Thereby, having their own childhood shorten. I’m the youngest of 5 and I view the oldest of my sisters as a 2nd Mom, who got her 3 young siblings ready for school, took us and picked us up from school, helped with our homework, started working at 14 to buy us nice clothes & other things All while also translating America 🇺🇸 for our immigrant parents and only being 4 years older than me. I had a great Mother/Parents. However, my Big Sister, operated more like my Mom’s younger Sister. She also took on being both my sisters caregiver and my parents. I wholeheartedly appreciate all her efforts and even wrote to Oprah back in the day to have her honor Big Sisters and their role within a Family creating the “it takes a Village” concept. In my observations, it takes a “Big Sister” that we love and appreciate. Thank you for being one yourself. I still would love to see a “Big Sister Day” sepárate from “Mother’s Day” 😊

With SK, I'm the only one I know who doesn't buy Raven's story. I think they weren't in a real relationship, they made a deal to continue, maybe for publicity, but the white girl blew up SK's hustle, I guess cause she wants publicity too. Raven and SK can't tell the truth cause I'm sure it would cause some contract issues with the show and what not. Kwame, I felt his feelings about sacrificing certain things were valid. I’m sorry your family wasn’t as supportive/celebratory about your move as they could have been. I understand fully how that feels. I’m wishing you a long and happy life and nothing but pleasant memories in your new home!! Edit: 28:44 When I hear people proclaim to be “givers” I rarely believe them. I haven’t met true selfless givers that have to run around telling people they’re givers. Usually they don’t even know they’re giving too much and you have to reel them back a bit so that they don’t burn themselves out.

As a fellow Puerto Rican, not all of us are loud and obnoxious, nor do we like to be. I think pride in our island and flag is beautiful, but not all of us enjoy the stereotypes on Latinas. I hope to see growth for Lydia throughout the show 🙏

There is nowhere in the American reality tv world where the producers are interested in upholding the dignity of black women. Be it on the Real Housewives franchise, Basketball Wives, Love and Hip Hop or ANY of the dating/marriage shows. Their business model is based on profiting off of the humiliation and degradation of black women.
@uniqueone8928 Жыл бұрын
Who fault is this at this point? If Black people agree to do these contracts to sell out their people and low their standards for greeds. They should be holding themselves accountable and stop lowering their standards for the white people. Black people gotta do better at this point. They stand for nothing nowadays.

In Izzy’s defense…johnie gave us a huge trauma dump and said “so yeah what do you think?!” I was sitting there with my mouth open 😂
@Electra9797 Жыл бұрын
That’s fair, I’m not exactly sure what she expected him to say. Maybe she thought he would trauma dump back and that would bring them “closer”. But telling a man that you weren’t in love with your ex husband and the one person you really love died is wild because did she think that would make him more interested??? Sis could’ve took that to the grave tbh. I think Johnnie would benefit from therapy and putting marriage on the back burner. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

The way that she basically told him she didn’t love her first husband, I would have left her too. Stacy and him had been having a nice fun easy connection, why wouldn’t he choose that relationship? Johnie did not say anything about maturing, reassure him that she’s grown and is serious about wanting a true connection and a healthy relationship. Nothing. She waved her red flags and expected him to just accept that and continue? Nah. I couldn’t fault him for that. And the way he informed Chris of this was very good bro behavior, he let him know that Johnie is not honest or consistent. Good for Chris.

Both Uche and Lydia are diabolical. He has that bombshell of a secret, yet interrogated Aaliyah like that over infidelity that didn't even happen to him? Lydia is playing in her face like she's her bestie, but not only she's harboring a huge secret, she tells every detail about her relationship with Uche.

The way she single handedly sabotaged that relationship was unbelievable. The whole time I was thinking why hasn’t this woman been loved, she’s so loving and kind. I also feel like people will play up my slight accent I have and automatically disregard me (I am a Neuro PhD).
