Rick didn't understand the movie. But, he seemed very resistant to even think with a different angle that Korbin was trying to explain!! Rick, why would you not try to consider and think differently for once. Good job Korbin, at least you tried your best using multiple scenarios of the movie to get your point across. Korbin is consistent in his opinions and views, Rick's view keeps changing based on certain "conditions".. so it is hard to understand. He questions the acting in so many movies but he didn't acknowledge BAD acting in Devdas..

Exactly what i thought. She was NOT bringing it to the police. They were night patrolling and she just confessed when she was made to stop the car,it was maybe shock or mayb she felt she had no choice.

In this movie, his first friend tells shine tom chacko that he thinks that he is mentally unstable and that's what his wife thinks too. So clearly, he being Shine's alter ego, we understand Shine is not a stable person. He has financial problems and has a tendency to suicide. The movie had left clear hints throughout if you observe from the beginning. 1.The most evident clue was that when her father comes, these two friends are just watching him talking to the father, father doesn't see them. 2. Another clue which was left at the beginning was when his friend 1 sees the cracked photo with blood stain on it, he reacts so normal and tells there is blood stain as if he already knew that. 3.Then, throughout the movie, it shows his friends drinking from his bottle of alcohol and the level is still the same and it never gets finished. 4. There are instances where the first friend tells that he is going to leave and says good bye. Then when we think that he actually left, he is still there. He doesn't leave the room. 5. All three are wearing the clothes of shine tom chacko. I think there is a scene in which that colorful shirt the second friend wore was shown hanging in his stand. I think there are even more instances from where you can draw this conclusion ..these just came into my mind now.

I would like to add on more clues 6. The ID card of the girl shown in his room has the name Harita which is same as the girl who texted him "Iam pregnant". 7. Harita's husband and the friend that he owes money to are the same guy, you can easily make it out by the voice.

Also it was deepti who was pregnant and the hero imagines it to be Haritha..u can look at the time when he gets the message 2:16 and also the time at which deepti tries to call him after the ultrasound2:12..shortly after the call u can see her typing on the phone(we can presume it to be 2:16).. and one more thing ..the meeting with harita..she gets a text message and the guy takes her phone to ask who that is..take a look at the date..it's happening on Jan.

Come on Rick. Your whole point about he not being freaked out is soooo wrong. As an audience when we realize it's all in his head, it makes sense to us that he was not freaked out. But if the director showed him freaked out in his imagination and then we came to know he was imagining all this, we would have felt cheated because why will a person freak out in his imagination. Plus his weaker alter ego was already freaking. Please accept you didn't understand the movie and watch it again. You may get it this time.

It is clearly a case of 'Rick didnt get it' VS 'Korbin is right and Rick is wrong' and the former is true here.. Rick clearly misunderstood the film.. I wanna talk so much about the detailing in the "I'm pregnant" msg received at first, the dad coming, the ID card of the lady he is having an affair with etc.. But too much to type.. Just remembering one thing.. I watched it in the theatre (the movie I watched after a year in the theatre, also with Khalid Rahman sitting next to us - thought it was cool to mention) and when we came out my husband told me Korbin would love this movie and Rick wouldn't get it.. I told him not to be so rude... Clearly, I was wrong..😅

I was surprised when Rick mentioned in the beginning of the video ‘everybody cheating on everybody’ . I mean that’s one of the easiest things one could deduct from this movie. I seriously don’t think Rick saw the movie keenly enough as he used to do with earlier movies he watched. I mean.. how can someone so intelligent miss all these details in a movie 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️. That was a total bummer!

Common audience don't.. Which is why the movie sucks.. It's a clever film that became a stretched out head scratcher which might have worked better as a short film. In terms of craft it's a good film, but as you said it's content is minimal . Considering unda and anuraga karikkin vellam Khalid rahman is capable of more than this exercise in mediocrity.

Psycho what ?? Movie seems to be pretty straight forward 1. Wife come to know about husband's affair 2. Wife becomes pregnant after long time , during the same period unfortunately , visit for check up and message him that she is pregnant 3. Husband start thinking about how to deal with it.His insecure , business fail part of mind is the bald guy. His affair and scared part is the next guy. All parts of his mind contemplates what to do - run , setup , fight or kill. 4. Wife reach - he hits her - she wakes up and kill him. God knows what was going through her mind. She chance surrenders on road may be on the way to police station or to dispose body. We don't know. Simple 😉 4.

That message says that she is pregnant not the wife.He doesnt open the whatsapp even he saw that notification of that message.so later she deletes that message. Rick IS not confused now after Korbin explained, but he WAS earlier. But it's always difficult for him to accept the fact that he is the one who didn't understand the storyline. Korbin as I have always noticed has a strong sense of understanding chaos. Rick is basically a by the book guy. Anything outside the book is a bit difficult for him to understand. # Rick didn't get it

I think its the other way around..In their Jallikattu review, rick had given some really good points.. As I havent seen Love, I cant comment on this..but I think Rick gave one valid point here regarding that Twist..Most film makers nowadays try to fool the audience by showing different scenes at the beginning and entirely different story at the climax just to create the twist.. (Please note: As i havent seen this movie, I am not sure whether this point is correct for this movie

Korbin got it correct. It was a brilliant movie. She didn't take the body to the police. She was trying to dispose of the body but accidentally ran into a police blockade. At that point, she decided there is no way out but to confess. Korbin 1- Rick 0

The filmmaker left so many clues (like the bald guy not noticing the broken glass, the father in law not noticing the other two guys and as Rick pointed out, the guy not freaking out at his wife's death) to show that these characters were just his sub conscious. And that's what you want, right? After the film, you want the earlier scenes to make sense based on what you know at the end. Rick was super annoying, irritating, condescending, helplessly nit-picking, over criticizing (but not giving any valid points) here just like I've seen him in some other reviews (Andhadhun, Super Deluxe, the recent Kamal Hassan dance). He didn't get it either (objectively) despite Korbin's explanations. And that's completely fine. Loved this review for precisely those reasons :)

I don't think she brought the dead body intentionally to the police.. in Kerala esp when a women is outside at an odd hour, there is chance that police will stop her. It was just a random police checking and maybe they saw her bruised in the head, she was bleeding.. they just asked are you ok madam!! She just confessed to them due to her emotional state

Not everything needs to be explained at the beginning as Korbin said, but plenty of clues were given through out. I wonder how you missed it! @Rick the movie is essentially a character study of the husband. He is a very flawed and unusual man. So it's interesting to see the thought process of such a person. I've read articles about men who have affairs and kill their wives or lovers when they're found out and often wondered why that happens. Isn't it easier to just leave some one? This sort of gives us an insight into how they think. I think that the director was introducing this character rather than a strory with a 'twist' or 'ahaa moment'.

I thought Rick would definitely like it. I can’t believe this. Why he didn’t like it.? Or is it something like he is pretending. ? I am not sure if you have noticed this. He receives a messages in the beginning scene from Haritha which says she is pregnant. But we think it is his wife’s message because the previous scene was that his wife was being consulted by a doctor . Later point of time, we see a girl comes (as his friend’s illicit relation)to his house in his imagination leaves her ID card on the table which reads Haritha.

I actually loved the movie when I watched it. As I went in without knowing anything at all... didn't even watch the trailer. So every little thing surprised me. And I enjoyed the experience. But later on as I thought about it...I did wonder what the film was trying to say or if it was trying to say anything at all. My takeaway was that it was a toxic relationship. And usually these relationships are not all bad all the time. Like there are highs and lows. That is why people stay in such situations, and are unable to get out. It's like being addicted to a drug. Otherwise it would be easy to walk away from a cheating, abusive partner.

I don’t think the filmmakers were trying to hide the fact that it was his own personalities, because it was made clear when the door got unlocked on it’s own and the first friend walked in. Obviously there were many other instances, but the clues were given out from the very beginning.

He was so calm.. Because hes actually planning that in his head.. But that calmness is what sticked me through out to this movie.. Because it gives a suspense element.. And makes us want to know why hes so calm... Which means that calmness is very important for this movie... 🤷‍♂️

Explaining the pregnant part: Movie starts with her sending the text to him, "I'm pregnant". But we see the guy receiving the message after he has killed her and put her in bathroom. That means all that happened was only in his head and at that time in reality she was still in hospital. She came later, got into a fight and this time his other self(the suicidal self) encourages him to kill her but he couldn't. Throughout his imagination(where he has killed her) we got to know that he loved her. But rather she killed him, which was also an accident and out of rage. That's why she didn't know what to do and tried to dump the body. She wasn't even prepared for the police. TBH Korbin was very smart to know that when 1st guy came in. I didn't realize it until the affair part in other room. one doubt was there when he got the text very late.

For who didn't understood this movie: The 2 friends in this movie are not real they are his emotions like bad spirit and good spirit the first friend is bad spirit and second one is good spirit ,overall the first half is not real its his imagination. There is a way to find it, when the movie starts just keep an eye on the liquor bottle he drinks it fully, and after that when he enters into the real world from his imagination the bottle fills up again.after that his wife enter the apartment again and as his imagination they start fight and good spirit says don't kill her talk calmly bad spirit says kill her and he hit her with the iron box but it fails after that she get up and kill him and surrender to police

Ok relax! I loved Love especially the writing and even acting and this is what I thought about the movie - the movie comes from a lense of a person who is probably suffering from bipolar disorder & there is one such of few scenes, when Gokulan (bald friend) is depressed & Anoop tells him that if you don't talk it out with your wife you will suppress all the emotions inside. When you do that, you get into constant mood swings & your one emotion start talking to your other emotions like a monologue in your head. Hence the acting was subtle; if we as audience were made to believe that all of this is real and wife is actually killed and that his freak out should have not been this subtle; well then that wasn't really the point of this movie at all because then the person enacting someone suffering from bipolar that acting would not be justified at all and that would be "Not believeable"

Good to see the back and forth. She did not drive to the Police. She happens to pass through a street that has a police checkpost (common in India) and when she gets asked to pull over, she confesses. This was a complex movie to digest but like Korbin said leaves a lot to discern and interpret. the discussion on this movie felt like the alter characters in the movie itself. And about her acting as a dead body. She wasn't just supposed to act as just a dead body. She was supposed to act as a figment of his consciousness also. Which is why you will notice, that her eyes were most of the time following him. It was sometimes to the left sometimes to the right. It was just a gaze following him. This was one of the few hints saying it's his sub conscious. And those hints made total sense. If you got the movie, you would have guessed it was his subconscious and would not have even called it 'the big reveal' at the end. Because it wasn't supposed to be the big reveal.

My theory about the female character bring the dead body to the police is that she doesn't want the psychological imbalance in her life if she buried the dead body unknowingly (like in the movie drishyam). That's why she go directly towards the police so that this will end quickly as possible. It's just a theory😌
