I wanted to slap all of Martell's features off his face when he called his girlfriend a peasant. However, what does that make him? He's been with his girlfriend for about 2yrs. He doesn't plan on leaving her. He may not reach out to calm things down but he goes right back. He's married to Mel because of her ambition and the way she thinks when it comes to business. It probably took him a while in college to get her because of his ego but once he did. Then he went back to being a cheater. This is who he was always been before he married Mel and it took her a minute before she caved in. That's why he has that look on his face because they've been thru this before and I knows she will eventually cave in again. There's something that his girlfriend has that Mel doesn't and that's why he keeps a relationship with her. He's emotionally attached to her and I think it's more than just sex because if that's what it was all about then he would have been left her alone. He doesn't have that emotional attachment with Mel. Mel was a challenge that he was able to overcome and since then she doesn't challenge his mind anymore. With then being married and have businesses it makes it hard for him to divorce her because he's going to have to start over and he doesn't want to do. I had a feeling from the last season that Marsau was cheating. He's probably worse that Martell. At least he Martell has one and no telling how many Marsau had and/or has. That's why he doesn't want Latisha to work so her life is tied in to him ams in some cases makes it harder for her to leave when the truth about him comes out. She's so dumb and can't see that she's in a controlling manipulating marriage. I don't feel sorry because it has nothing to do with love. Love is an action word not an emotion. It's all and should be about respect and these men does not display it at all.

He's emotionally connected to her and not Mel. He's been with this female for almost 3yrs and that says a lot about him. I doubt that he would just mess with anyone because his ego won't allow him to. Mel is no longer a challenge to him and this female is and this is why he can't let her go. If he does for a few months but he always goes right back.

cashcow hey love, I think you’re misinterpreting what’s really being said. Most of the commentators that are speaking up about the peasant comment has less to do (imho) with the mistress and more to do with Martel and his extreme narcissism; that comment was QUITE alarming. He showed us completely that he ONLY cares for himself and THAT is where the problem lies. I doubt seriously that anyone is really rooting for the mistress. And with regards to Mel’s pregnancy, that has more to do with her living in this fantasy as opposed to the reality that her husband has no respect for her at all, yet they’re about to bring in another innocent life to all of this dysfunction. This all is a glaring neon negative light on Martel in the end. We don’t see it for any of them but his peasant comment was borderline sociopathic! I hope this helps! 🙃

I am not surprised that this Holt situation has evolved to what it has I saw this coming. I started watching the show for the variety of situations would happen for the various couples. Melody is close to my age, as much as she walks around with her head held so high up she doesn’t even recognize that her .shit is funky. I’m surprised Martell didn’t snitch on Marsau last season because it’s so obvious that Marsau is a serial cheater.
