There are different things to enjoy in Taiwan in each season. Summer in Taiwan is hot and humid but it is also the season where most of the fruits are in season. Taiwan is a paradise for fruit lovers. If you like fruits then you definitely want to visit Taiwan during the summer. The temperatures are much nicer in spring and autumn. There are more celebrations and festivities during these seasons. Winter can be cold especially most residences aren’t equipped with heaters.

One of the benefits of traveling in Taiwan during summer is that it’s mango season. You can visit Tainan to taste a dozen different types of mangoes, all at very affordable prices. Mango shaved ice, filled with fresh mangoes, is also a fantastic way to beat the heat. In the fall and winter, you can enjoy Taiwan’s deliciously sweet custard apples, soak in hot springs, and savor unique hot pot dishes like ginger duck and lamb stew.

Don't worry, Taiwanese just don't want to be regarded as China. We claim to have the same origin as China, but we have developed into a different culture.
I enjoy your whole series about Taipei. Good job. Taipei is my home town, and I'm settling down in Tainan now. If you really decide to come back to Taiwan again, please make a plan to visit southern Taiwan such as Tainan and Kaohsiung. Winter is the best time for tropical Tainan and Kaohsiung. And more important, you'll experience a different aspect of Taiwan.

It is recommended that you go around the island to experience the local customs next time you take a movie, because the eastern and southern parts of Taiwan and some outlying islands are very interesting to see.

Thank you for taking your time to visit the 228 memorial. On a lighter note, the memorial was built on the site of the first ever baseball game played in Taiwan. Though the players were all japanese. The bronze horse used to stand in front of the Taihoku Shinto shrine.

Much appreciated that you spent the time knowing the dark painful history of this beautiful democratic country. Unfortunately many of Taiwanese takes it for granted nowadays😮💨

Summer though hot it's when air pollution is the least. So colors are more vivid. Starting in fall, especially the Southern part of the island, it's all haze and smog, not pretty pictures. It really depend on wind. If it's coming from North East pollution starts to get bad if it's coming from South West it's good.

Eastern and southern parts of Taiwan are totally different from metropolitan Taipei. If you have time, make sure to save some time for them? Even the mountains will give you a lot of unique experiences. There are many mountains that are over 3000 meters and you could experience aboriginals' cultures (there are 16 tribes of aboriginals in Taiwan. As for the weather, although winter is cooler, northern Taiwan usually rains a lot. If you come to Taiwan during winter, don't forget to head to the south and the east.

I am so surprised that you go to discovery center of Taipei. Only few overseas visitors know it. I recommand you go to Alisan to enjoy the sight of sunrise. In addtition I strongly recommand Taroko National Park-- the most beautiful scenery in Taiwan included in your Taiwan trip checklist someday in the future. It's a pity that it was closed because of a violent earthquake attack several month ago and may be opened up in several years. There are lots of amazing attractions in Hualien and Taitung as well. We are looking forward to your visit to Taiwan next time!

228 in 1947...can't be. The KMT arrive in TW 1949.
@adamandlinds17 сағат бұрын
After World War II ended in 1945, Japan ceded Taiwan to the Republic of China (ROC), which was then under KMT control, and the KMT essentially took charge of Taiwan. However, the political situation was tense because the KMT had yet to establish strong control, leading to mistrust between locals and the incoming ROC government. The 228 Incident occurred in 1947, as tensions between the locals and the KMT boiled over due to oppressive policies and economic hardship under the new government. The resulting protests were met with a violent crackdown by the KMT. Then in 1949, after losing to the Chinese Communist Party in the Chinese Civil War, the KMT retreated to Taiwan and established the ROC government there. So, although the KMT fully established its government in Taiwan in 1949, they had been ruling Taiwan since 1945.

First of all, welcome your whole family to come to Taiwan to visit and enjoy the food. Thank you for loving Taiwan.
