Most likely a challenge because already, in DD1, the game won't even let you romance The Duke. The queen in DD2 is over protective of the position just like The Duke in DD1. As a matter of fact, Queen Disa is competitive on the ruler position just like The Duke. So I am sure Queen Disa would hate the idea of romancing the arisen because if you think about it. If the queen were to marry the arisen, then that makes the arisen the king.

I just want more of a say in the game. For a game trying to be so immersive, the first one really took me out of it when my character would simp over multiple characters because I wanted to do all the quests. I think it would be cool if you couldn’t choose who falls for you, but you still had the final say in who you chose. It would be more immersive and more fun, since I wouldn’t get stuck with someone because I was being nice.

Yooo I remember getting the child at Gran Soren. Every time I enter the city I would talk and give her items because I have a soft spot for kids. Then the dragon scene happened and I didn’t even think it was a romance option. Like I thought it was just sacrifice an innocent. Not lover. Anyway afterwards I head out and the child is waiting there. She jumped into my arms. Which was normal. Then it cut to the camp fire and then she jumped on top of my Arisen face on face. Lips to lips. This one cutscene ruined the game for me. My Arisen turned into a pedo within one cutscene. Like I was trying to romance Mercedes. Not some child. Then my 2nd play through was with the shopkeeper because I wanted the better armor. I kept giving him items to get a higher afinity. I was so confused so I searched it up and found out that the romance option was whoever had the higher affinity with.

@@CharlesVanexXYou could technically make your player character a child in the first game so maybe that's why you could end up with the kid as your beloved. Although as the other person mentioned she's a minor NPC from one side quest who you would've had to keep gifting items to, not one of the more fleshed out characters the game would steer you toward. Going by the new character creator demo you can no longer create a child in the sequel, probably due to the sex worker interactions and because the Rift in the first game was full of very young looking pawns that creepy players would put in lingerie armor and I doubt Capcom wants to deal with that.

Out of all my games I think I romanced Julien, the blonde knight, in at least 85% of all my playthoughs, majority being on PS4. 8:12 Actually, the Duchess Elinore has a "sex scene" in the original game in Duchess in destress, but it's implied (considering you can find her underwear on the same bed in the room after) and cuts to black the same way explained in the video. yeah romance in the original's story was a cool idea that fit the themes and what the plot was trying to do. as for the characters, even if you don't have a clue about the system and romance someone by accident... well my first accidental beloved says it best, "they're master works all, you can't go wrong." legitimately, if you have multiple people that are flagged as full affinity which was indicated by a sound effect and pink aura around their head every time you talked to them, even if it never switches this effect still happens, the last person it pops up for at the deadline is your beloved and there's no turning back... until new game plus i guess where most thing are turned back, curiously, your affinity with npcs is not one of them so people can be romanced without helping them or giving a gift so long as you got there last time and didn't switch. in another playthrough i accidentally chose an asshole of a Frenchman cause i wanted his unique shield, if you know you know lol. incidentally, this was the run when i found out how useless the arisen's bond was, yeah a maxes out affinity but does not lock it so if there's more than 1 that rule of the last one you talk to still applies. yay! so we won't have less writing if we go the Ushiyama rout, horny for the proprietress lmao ah so one of them is your Quina equivalent, of course, will she venture in dangerous territory for our sake with... not the best results too? yeah i know he likely meant "come to play" as a joke or a sensored version of a date but it still made me laugh, as i considered the possibility of a dev making a joke about jealous friends that duel for you even if none of them have romantic intentions yet. after all, they may be enemies already and want you to scheme with them rather than your enemy so this could make sense but the idea of blood thirsty yandere npcs, so thirsty for 2 liquids, was insanely funny to joke about. there are totally going to be players starting One Piece esc harem wars, trying to ramance as many people as possible to expand such blood baths.

Dragon’s Dogma exploded in the last so many years, which finally spurred Capcom into giving the dev one more chance, and it’s been looking to be a legitimate chance. People are here and pre ordering for HIM, not Capcom. If the game flops, he won’t get that support in the future. But even if the game succeeds, that doesn’t promise Capcom any further success as we are all here SOLELY for the guy *THEY screwed over all those years ago.* (In case you didn’t know, they massively rushed the development of the original game, to the point 3/4s of the game was chopped off, and Dark Arisen, which points to future material, never saw any sequel material. That’s what Capcom did to the developer (I forget his name but he also does the Devil May Cry series. Really good story writing :) ))

Unless you were one of the NPC living in the olden times where Grigori was an arisen in human form, then it is possible to romance Grigori. After all, Grigori did have to start out as an arisen. How any arisen becomes a dragon is simply lose to Seneschal.

I'm hoping characters and arcs re more involved this time around considering it felt like only a handful of romanceable options had much in the way of substance to any questlines involving them. The only kissing scene you get is after slaying a dragon. Arisen in DD1 does not ever get a 3rd kiss. The arisen can receive a kiss twice. One is from Aelinore. The other kiss is anyone of your choice. If you don't fight Seneschal, all you will be doing is enjoying a false peaceful life. No romance scenes. The game won't give you an option go back to your beloved once you are in the post game. If you beat Seneschal, it is your pawn that takes your body and your identity.

as long as the romance is actually better in DD2 than it was in the 1st one. The only "Real" romances you could have were female characters which was pretty lame. The original dragons dogma 1 story was pretty generic for most of it and you could tell was written for a male protagonist only. I'll wait and see- because they use alot of the original models from the 1st game as well as weapon skins and animations. Did they also use the same formula for the story/ romances? tons of hot waifu's with interesting romance scenes but only 1-2 ugly husbandos with no romantic cutscene? Why can't they seem to shake things up by giving you a male counterpart to Ulrike? Are the developers once again forcing a female romance relationship onto you? It's really off putting if they are.

You cannot claim DD2 don't offer your arisen a chance to be bisexual. I mean in DD2, you get to use the brothel service where your arisen gets to have sex with multiple men and women. Only difference is the arisen pays money for sex. Wiliehmina and Ulrika's sidequest is where you just get an automatic sex scene but you also have options to have sex with more then 2 NPC. If you play DD1, your arisen only gets to have sex 2 times only. After your arisen have sex with the duchess, then your arisen will later on have a chance to have sex with a man or woman or stick to a same duchess where it is only 1 person. If you were to play DD1, part of doing all sidequest will include having sex with the duchess regardless of the arisen's gender. Only difference is in DD2, sex will only be casual hook ups. No marriage. No strings attach, and no commitment. It just proves that in both DD1 and DD2, the arisen is normally expected to have sex with a woman but also have options to have sex with men as well.

Almost every resident living in Cassardis calls the arisen cousin. So it is most likely that if the resident is in their 20s, then they call the arisen cousin. Any resident in Cassardis who is a teen would not call the arisen cousin. Even residence that is a senior citizen also calls the arisen cousin. Even residence old enough to be the arisen's mother or father calls the arisen cousin.

Yeah I was so mad in the first game when I learned my lover was Madeline and not Aelinore, all because she was the last person I spoke to before going to the final boss as she was escaping town. Like I was so mad, I spent so much time trying to rescue Aelinore and everything and that gold digger ho shows up. I got so mad I considered deleting my save and the game from my Switch, never to touch it again.

I've had my Pawn question me as to why I have jumped her bones yet and then be interrupted by the pawns waiting outside before any conversation can start. I've also had a scene where some courtesan takes me to the side and kisses me, to keep me from getting discovered by guards, while trying to leave after obtaining evidence from Allred's quarters.

@@andreyshort9167 when can you romance a dragon in bg3? I know you can romance Dragonborn. Actually, I don’t even think you can do that either in bg3. You can’t customize your dream champion to look like a Dragonborn. I guess you can make your character Dragonborn and make YOURSELF the dream champion to indirectly “romance” them. Though, I already played through bg3 so I know it’s technically not a romance.

Thank you for the vid! It was a little unclear, is it confirmed in the Japanese IGN interview that you can once again romance any npc? I absolutely loved that feature in the original, I’d always make sure to end up with some rando Cassardis villager. If that feature comes back for the sequel I’m gonna be even more excited.

@@gooderambles eww yourself, why would you romance any other character? letting you make the ideal partner and not allow them to be wed is the biggest flaw DD1 had, during their creation, you had the option to give them the personality of "the perfect spouse", for what reason other than marriage would that be in there? the only characters worth romancing are one's that help you on your journey, through thick and thin, in weakness and in strength, through defeat and into victory, and there is only one character in the game that does that. if ashe gets his pawn as his beloved, we deserve the same right.
