LOVE SCULPTURE is one of the best bands ever. Dave Edmunds is so underated it makes me sick. One of my guitar heroes.

This has to be the most rocking version of a classical piece ever.

I play a little bass and drums and would be left behind in the dust within 30 seconds if I tried to keep up with this jam. Thank you for an OUTSTANDING video!!!

I beat this album to death. Fantastic work.

This was the first time I ever heard a rock adaptation of a classical song and Farandole also! The rest of the album was good too. One of my favorites.

This is an absolutely immortal CLASSIC! It was never appreciated in it's time. I had this (vinyl) album in high school. Wish I could find this on CD somewhere now ....
@Okeh81098 жыл бұрын
I dunno if you found it since, but both Love Sculpture albums have been reissued on CD with bonus tracks, extensive liners, etc.

That drummer too, fucking amazing. Your not telling me that they were speeding like fuck when they did this though ? Puts most punk records to shame ! Only the Damned could equal this relentless attack ! Fucking brilliant !!!

I saw Rockpile with Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe (and Terry Williams and Billy Bremner) in Lund, Sweden, in February 1980. Don't remember if they played this ole' fave of mine...he often plays in Sweden, sometimes with my fellow Swedes The Refreshments.

Although I know that Love Sculpture wasn't a prog group, I also put this in my "classical and prog" playlist with a straight classical performance of this piece.

Saw them live on the ill-fated north american tour. In Toronto at the Yonge St club The Hawks Nest. I sat on the floor about 15 feet away, as we did for The Nice some months later. They were awesome. The five minute version of this was a top ten hit in Britain, not long after John Peel played if twice in one day onTop Gear. Anythin else you need to know?

The album version was issued in 1969 but the 45 RPM version was issued earlier in 1968 and is better than the album version. The recent CD of the album has both versions.

Actually, it was released in 1969. I bought the album around 1977 as a double LP together with 'Blues helping' (1968). /// The song is a sort of an Armenian war dance from Khatchaturian's 1942 ballett Gayane, of which I know nothing... /// I saw Dave Edmunds (69 yrs next month...) with Rockpile (Nick Lowe, Billy Bremner - no, not HIM - and Terry Williams) in 1980, after the release of their only proper album, 'Seconds of pleasure'.

This is the very best version of a masterpiece of a guitar vertuoso. This version is also on the double album 'The Early Edmunds' EMI CDS7967172 Disc 2 track 1, for those who might be looking for this version.

Edmunds should be arrested for guitar abuse. Has the art of soloing on rock guitar really advanced since this was recorded? But I have to admit that the 11-minute version wears me out. I like the more concise 5 to 6 minute version found elsewhere on YT.
